Oh, that cake!

MrE has been baking with S at weekends. Sunday’s offering were cookies and cream cupcakes (topped with salted caramel Oreo crumbs)

Fabulous ramen viggy. We've been eating a lot of similar things as D has discovered soy-marinaded eggs and makes them in batch of six which then need to be used within a week. I not complaining!

The first recipe on this page is a bit diffetent and lovely and comforting - I use half the butter and add greens plus a chopped avo and chilly crisp.

I made a blueberry cornmeal tart, and ate a slice outside in the garden with my friend

That’s pretty.

Herby pasta with slow roasted tomatoes.

Very pretty tart, lovely way to come out of lockdown.

That looks really good, Wendy. What's in the pasta sauce? Any tips on the tomatoes.

It’s parsley, coriander and basil blitzed with fennel, celery, garlic, onion, lemon juice and olive oil.

It’s from an Aine Carlin book but she only has a precursor recipe on her site - https://www.ainecarlin.com/ainecarlin/2 ... reen-pasta

I searched and found this variation, which at least includes the tomatoes! The book recipe says 7-8 hours for the tomatoes but I’d agree that 5-6 is plenty.

We had fritatta with salad.

Wendy are your little bowls the ones from Costco?

Thank you. Sounds great, very fresh and springy.

The frittata looks good too, also lovely spring/summer food.

They were a present from somewhere on the internet bramble, though it’s possible Costco have them now too.

Broad bean fritters with pickled cucumber. We ate outside.

P did his usual trick of not looking ahead so had a flap when he realised he’d not started on any of the veg to accompany the pie. Apparently he also missed the pie filling needed to cool. Most bizarrely, he’s put the pie lid on a deep casserole dish as though it’s a much shallower one.

ANYWAY, it tastes lovely but even less photogenic than usual.

I’m not a big kidney bean fan but I like the name :)) I’d prob switch to another bean, it sounds really delicious.

It’s end term here so we celebrated with pizza from somewhere new. Check out one of the boxes! Love it!

That prompted me to look on Deliveroo to try and find the name of the place near me that has similar branding (because I was going to ask you what you thought) and I've just seen that Paul now do pizza and deliver!

Yes! Napoli Gang! I really liked their arancini. I’d been craving them
and can’t make them myself. I ordered G a tiramisu as a treat and he loved it :hbeat:

Elvis has taken to using egg cups as mini platter type things.

The Gosh mini sausages are good.
Mini veggie sausages made from chickpea, cauliflower & butterbean, simply blended with a Cumberland style seasoning of sage and pepper.

Oh I nearly bought those last night in LIDL but I ended up getting the beetroot falafels instead.

That’s such a good idea of Elvis’s with the egg cup! Unfortunately mine are just cups without the plate-y surround (plus I’m greedy)

Excellent repurposing of egg cups!

I would like all the cakes and puddings on this page please.
