Ella! That looks incredible.

Rebs, does it tell you the weight of the meat when you order? That looks small.

I’ve ordered this feast for next weekend.

Interestingly I just had this response from the restaurant via Restokit
1 piece of beef is the correct amount. All the dishes are to share, they get one portion of each dishes to share. I can tell you that I have had the box already, and could not manage to finish the cheesecake (shared with one more person). Note that the piece of beef is beef is between 250-300 gr , which is quite a lot for two. Also note that the picture shows a short rib with the bone (this one has been provided without bone since a month ago).
I didn't actually complain about the cheesecake, I said it looked like a sharing amount. :))

Because the beef is vacuum packed you can't tell that there's no bone in there so without bone it seems a fairer portion for two. The pic IS inaccurate then, I was right, just not in the way I thought. :poke:

250-300g for two is NOT a lot, I think that's very stingy of them and that you're well within your rights to pull them up on it, bone or no.

ETA The internet says that the average size of a steak - which I think it's fair to compare that too - in the UK is 225g, so they're pulling a fast one.

It's basically half a pound isn't it? Yeah it's not what I'd call "a lot". Adequate, but hardly overflowing with generosity.

Oh, the Clay's Kitchen feast looks immense, BTW. I investigated them for NYE but left it too late.

I agree, it's an ok amount but definitely not "a lot". I usually buy about 400 g of meat to cook something for two ( if meat is the centrepiece). I do think you'll have enough food when it's three courses, but it's measured carefully to be just enough, it's not generous. For the price I 'd hope for more generosity.

Yeah the Sainsbury's thick steak I buy to split between us is 400g.

This weighs in at nearer the 250g end of the stated range too.

I’ve just ordered those filthy bread bombs for my mum for next weekend. They look absolutely immense, thanks Ella!

You meat is definitely stingy, Rebs. I hope that box wasn’t everything in the kit??

I have definitely over ordered . I the curries are freezable or keep for a week in the fridge so I may not cook everything in one go. Or maybe I will :ready:.

Two of these things from Breakfast En Bread have just arrived, and they look great. (I didn't order them.)
Filled with slow-roasted tomato, spinach, leeks, oyster mushrooms, avocado, asparagus, sprinkled with cheese and topped with a free-range egg.

The picture is pretty much to scale; they're massive :)).
Oh god I might get these.

I got her the salmon one and the original one for my bro (who lives with her, can’t really leave him out!), and the bottle of sparkling wine for mimosas :)

Are they are delicious as they look? I mean, how can they not be??
