No, I always wanted to, it sounded amazing! One day.

I hope food boxes are here to stay, but only if they sort out the plastic. Petersham did well on that front, and I think Terre à Terre will probably be ok too, but some of them are awful. I’m not sure what the solution is, I know we’ve discussed it before :blah:.

Ah yes, this will be my first one so I haven't had to think about the plastic etc.

My in-laws are RAGING after their Stein box. They ordered one with lobster but got Dover sole. And they were shocked at how much cooking they needed to do.

I'd be furious too if I'd ordered lobster and got sole.

I do think the rush to fulfil as many orders as possible is getting in the way of taking proper care. With food boxes it’s not like you can send the contents back if they’re wrong.

My Lima stuff showed up on time! So that's a relief. I'm a bit...disappointed by the portions though. At least of the main course. The amount of short ribs looks to me to be exactly what is shown in the pictures on a single plate, definitely as a "main course", not a tapa or anything. The cheesecake is singular but is a decent size so I assume is meant to be halved and for a starter the tuna portion is not bad.

I'm not sure if this is just me being a greedy oinker though. :uhh: My only comparison is Cote and their portions were very generous. Mr R was all worried about where we'd fit it all in the fridge having just collected a big shop yesterday. Safe to say that's not been a problem. :)) Anyway I've emailed them on the offchance we're missing a second "mains" kit.

Oh that's..interesting. I had earmarked Lima but slightly concerned now (although, I often think the portions look small but when they're all plated up they end up plenty - that might be me though). My Hoppers also just arrived (early!), which you would hope would happen when you're paying £15 delivery. :)) It smells brilliant. Even through plastic.

(Oh I have ordered Sambal Shiok special laksa for next week (chicken and prawn), via pezu. It's the first time I've managed to get in before they sell out for the week. :ready: )

Yay for Hoppers arriving and smelling delicious!

I am quite prepared to be pleasantly surprised once it's all plated up but at the same time I think I'll be buying some extra snacky carby things, purely to help soak up the alcohol I plan to consume. :rebs:

ETA: ooh, that sounds lovely!

That sounds good, Cerise!

Two of these things from Breakfast En Bread have just arrived, and they look great. (I didn't order them.)
Filled with slow-roasted tomato, spinach, leeks, oyster mushrooms, avocado, asparagus, sprinkled with cheese and topped with a free-range egg.

The picture is pretty much to scale; they're massive :)).
