It just tastes of earth to me, when not pickled. I've tried, I've given up.

A well made hot chocolate is hard to find. Often it’s too sickly sweet and a massive no to squirty cream

I don't like hot chocolate either, but I'm not a fan of chocolate flavoured things even though I like chocolate itself eg I don't like chocolate ice cream either.

Except for the hot chocolate thing. In my opinion.

Chicken thighs. Or any bit of chicken that isn’t chicken breast actually, particularly bits with bones in.

I last cooked polenta when I lived in Bristol adding an entire block of cheese and about an entire block of butter. One would think it would be delicious but no it was merely volcanic wallpaper paste.

I don't, but I have eyed them up. I can't really justify the storage space but I would love to have a go on one.

Is a velvetiser just a milk frother machine? I am in the market for the latter. I just bought an aerolatte wand thing, which is fine so far although my small cafetiere can do as good a job. I do like hot chocolate though

Re: Foodie disappointments
I got a velvetiser for Christmas. It’s quite good but not amazing It just heats the milk & chocolate up & whisks it at the same time, and the cup size is tiny so it’s gone in about 3 mouthfuls :piggy:

It doesn’t make the milk frothy either, just whisks it slightly.

Also! It doesn’t make it hot enough IMO.

Thank you, Lola. I too prefer a vat of hot chocolate so I don’t think this is the product for me I will see if the aerolatte thingy makes a difference to the texture next time I make a bucket, er mug, of HC though.

Re: Foodie disappointments
I use steamed milk from my coffee machine to make hot chocolate (just added to a cup of chocolate chips) and it makes all the difference.

I made one of those dalgona coffees with my new stick blender and i think it will be amazing for hot chocolate now I've read about velvetisers.

And emma_p, I am this > < close to just sacking it all and getting a home espresso machine. But I REALLY cannot go there in my current place, my countertops are already so annoyingly limited and crowded. I’d love a proper steamer attachment though
