wendy has reminded me to make the Maria Elia panzanella for work lunches. It’s not written vegan but it easily could be.

Mr R made this Ottolenghi chicken satay with pickled cucumbers tonight (from this week's Feast) and it was perfect summer evening food.

Was it nice cerise? I’ve only had it once, in a restaurant and it tasted very “worthy” I remember thinking I’d prefer rice or cous cous but that might have been the dressing (set menu, included fruit which I don’t really do)
We’ve been eating loads of fish. We have a brilliant fish counter at our local shop and most nights we just wrap in foil with lemon, salt and pepper. Sometimes capers and anchovies too. Just with salad or on its own to be honest, I’ve randomly totally gone off meat and carbs, that might just have been the heat though.

It was nice. The recipe didn’t say to add feta but I felt like it and was glad I did! We ate it with salmon.
Couscous is a darn sight quicker!

I love good fish with lemon.
I prefer quinoa to cous cous but like rice a lot more than either.

Both were bloody lovely although I got mugged for half of my bacon.

I had the zataar chicken tonight too. We loved it.
We served ourselves from this platter. Just in case you think I ate all of this.

I'm glad you liked it, Disco. I made it again on Sunday evening as it's a winner with everyone in our house. I served it with Ottolenghi baked mint rice (the recipe has a salsa but I didn't make that bit) and it worked really well because they go in at the same temperature:

I just made this asparagus soup with lemon and parmesan and it was so delicious. Creamy without any cream and so smooth (I just used a stick blender).

This was lovely, even though it's not really summery right now!

I just made this quite summery tuna, caper and chilli spaghetti and it was really good.

As usual I was a bit gung ho with the actual recipe and upped the tuna, reduced the pasta (I used tagliatelle) and used more chilli, but the flavours in general were really delicious
