That’s a lot of lasagne!

I made spring vegetable paella but the picture is a bit close up. :)) I’ll definitely make it again.

I didn’t make yesterday’s dinner but I left P and the girls with my MIL in a pub and went over the road to a vegan place she’d mentioned in the past.

I got donner loaded fries with everything and it was bloody lovely. It took a while to make fresh then I got to eat it in peace then rejoined them. There’s options for me in the pub but I’d been after the kebab fries since I saw it on the menu.

That looks great Pip. I make that chicken recipe quite regularly and I love it but always Jane to at least double the peppers. RIGHT. Why on earth did my stupid phone change the word “have”, which wasn’t a typo, to “Jane”?? This is really pissing me off, it’s like my phone is trolling me.

I want to try the Korean keema too. And I went out for Bao buns in London the other day and have been obsessing about them ever since, so they’re on my list to try as well.

Ah, yes. So dairy free béchamel and cheese? I was anticipating orzo for your Nigella recipe, not pearl barley! Looks really nice.

Which veg were in your paella, Wendy? Courgette and orange pepper? I love the Anna Jones fennel seed paella but everyone else in my family is wedded to a chorizo. I think the smoked paprika adds enough smokiness for me though.

Pearl barley is orzo, although there’s also a kind of pasta by the same name.

Yes, orzo the rice shaped pasta is what I was expecting.

But orzotto can be made with either kind of orzo :)). I think it’s only in America that they use the pasta, isn’t it? If I ordered it here, I’d expect to get the pearl barley is what I mean :blah:.

What I actually do with her lasagne is normal white sauce & no cheese. She’s ok with a bit of dairy now, but not too much.

Nigella suggests you could also use the pasta orzo just simply cooked & dressed with butter as a side. But when she did this on tv, it was with the one I made.

Fennel, radish, courgette, asparagus, mushroom and carrot. I left out the peas on purpose (we’re running low) but the onion by accident. It has chickpeas and plenty of smoked paprika.

Jammie Dodger blondies. I even paid for the proper British biscuits. Hopefully they taste ok!

They smell amazing. I’ve resisted and will eat one after dinner. S managed 2/3 of a square and then gave up so I suspect they are crazy sweet and rich.

I know this looks terrible but it’s the first thing I’ve cooked/ eaten in a week. The only fresh items I had were two eggs, two spring onions and two cloves of garlic. Mixed seafood (squid, mussels, scallops) nasi goreng.
