Oh dear, don't say that - I've only got about 6 forks and knives It's a good point though.

Definitely buy ice, it’s like £1 a bag. We usually get a big plasterers bucket and put 4/5 bags of ice in, a bit of water and then fill with fizz and beers.
We have another plasterer bucket to throw empties
in too, like a compliant alcoholic production line

Re: Drinks for the neighbours
I've just come back from the garden party. There were more sweet things than savoury - largely because of people dropping out at the last minute and leaving things unbalanced, but one good idea that I can pass on is mini chicken tikka bites - you just put dollops of mango chutney on tiny poppadoms and top with bought chicken tikka chunks. They were very popular and will have been easy to make.

Re: Drinks for the neighbours
It was a success! I had to scale back the menu as I had an offer I couldn’t refuse yesterday so less prep time. But it went really well and I had lots of lovely comments.
I did:
Sausages
Green salad
Tomato & ricotta tart with balsamic & parsley dressing (needn’t have bothered with the dressing really)
Potato salad with garlic & herb vinaigrette
Baguettes
Crisps & olives
Brownies, fruit and boozy whipped cream.
As well as wine and beer, drinks were Pimms, elderflower cordial, and fizzy things in cans (san pellegrino & cawston press).
This doesn’t sound like much but it was a lot of prep, probably because of the quantities. We had 22 people.
It went so well, I’m tired now though! we’re about to run the dishwasher for the third time and my husband has tidied up the garden very impressively, you would almost never know .

I very much want to live on Turtle Close
Glad to hear it all went so well, squizz! I need to make that corn salad soon, possibly this weekend.
