I’ve just done sausages, then reheated some amazing almond croissants (Waitrose - they’re out new Sunday morning tradition) and I already know I’m going to love this af much more than I do my other one!

Got a quick question regarding temperature settings etc for recipes. Do people just follow the heat guidelines for a fan oven, or do something else?

Maybe a stupid question but do air fryers use so much less energy than ovens?

Yep much less - less space to heat, heats up faster than an oven and cooks faster so it’s on for less time.

Thanks Viggy! Makes sense if you put it like that.

Per day? How long’s it on for? 24 hours, 1 hour?

Just cooked a really basic roast in mine made up of chicken, Yorkshires, spuds, carrots, garlic, onion and parsnips and it all worked. The only thing I didn't use it for was the peas, which I fried with garlic butter. The spuds weren't quite right, we both agreed on that but I will practice them during the week. The whole thing took just over an hour and was totally worth it.

What started off as a tentative buy is rapidly becoming an excellent one. Really excellent.

rosy wrote: Sat Sep 03, 2022 11:13 pm I have an instant pot duo (air fryer, pressure cooker etc all in one). Everything I used to bake, fry or roast, I now do in the instant pot. It also makes amazing risotto in 12 minutes with no stirring.
This is relevant to my interests, do you have a risotto recipe, rosy?

Obviously not rosy but I made this version the other day (with more mushrooms and just eyeballed the parmesan) and it was absolutely spot on.

That's really impressive TC, continuing my one tray only efforts I just had a great one this evening that was rather less ambitious than your meal :) Toss cubed pork belly and parboiled new potatoes in some soy sauce, balsamic, garlic granules, brown sugar and salt and pepper, stuck it on airfry and it was done in sixteen minutes. Sixteen minutes! And it was lovely to boot.
