Mine's still cooling down but a few bits fell off getting it out of the silicone tin and it is LUSH.

Mine is in the oven right now, though I was a bit haphazard with the measuring so I fear slightly for its edibility. :nerves:

I just made this again but TMT was down so I had to guess at the recipe. I seem to have guessed a little wrong as much of the inside exploded out and oozed all over the place. I have a pile of cake chunks instead of cake. It still tastes good, a little on the sweet side maybe. The first one was better. Less oozy.

Mine worked a treat! Well it didn't rise very much (does that mean not enough bicarb?) but apart from that it was great. It was quite puddingy, whereas I expected it to be more cakey, if that makes sense. But I approved of that. :bounce:

NOM! :yummeh: Mine burnt on the top due to crappy oven and was quite soggy due to the vast quantities of banana that I used, but it has been given the thumbs-up by me, boyfriend and friend. Thank you! :bounce:

My friend re-named it Cinnamon Smile Banana Bread because the cinnamon layer went U-shaped. Awww.

Tried this on Sunday and it is delicious! Thanks for the recipe Pip :toomuch: :)) I'm going to make it again to use up the rest of my black bananas that are in the freezer.

Were people using 1lb loaf tins or 2lbs (I don't have a ruler to check Pip's measurements). I only have a 1lber, but could do two small ones, I guess?

How do you know how many lbs your loaf will weigh according to the size of the tin? Doesn't it depend what ingredients you use, or have I completely misunderstood?

I used a normal sized loaf tin which sounds like it would be about 9x5, I didn't measure.

No need to thank me for this fantastically informative post.

That's just how you buy them, innit?

Lakeland's 2lb loaf tin is 9 x 5 x 2 3/4 so that helps

I didn't know that! The more I thought about it the more I thought mine must be a 2lb-er, and Lakeland has validated me .

So there you go. Happy bananabread making :yummeh:.

I bought a 2lb loaf tin rather than fart about with converting only half the recipe. I used Beena's conversions and it smells lovley. I had a tiny taster this morning when trying to fit the cake into a box to take to work :ready:
