I loved Shang Chi too.

(We’ve been watching 15 storeys high on IPlayer which has a baby Wong in it!)

I really liked Shang Chi too. Didn’t love it but really liked it. The boys were all puffed up at the Chinese-ness :))

Mine were fine with it, but I can imagine more sensitive children being quite scared in places.
S made us watch that last week - she has Disney+ and signed us into that. I agree with your description of it, which meant that I hated it :))

S and M loved it though.

Where did you find The Dry?

My friend and I went to see Candyman tonight. It was phenomenally good. Very, very clever, scary, humorous in parts and fantastically made. It deserves to win awards.

Sky.

I cancelled my cheap deal as it wasn't even worth paying £2.99 a month for two more months. P used it to finally tick off 'watch an Indiana Jones film', I watched a Sky Original and the girls watched a couple of animated films, and there's nothing else that interests me!

The Sky Original I watched was Long Story Short, which passed an evening but fairly predictable. Away from Sky, I also watched Crazy Rich Asians (again, fairly predictable  ) and Midsommar - weird and P came home at a rather full on bit and wondered WTF I was watching.

Thank you, I'll check it out.

Midsommar is VERY full on. I want to watch it again but there were quite a few bits I really didn't like. I think I'll stick to The Wicker Man!

I just went to see the Oasis at Knebworth 1996 concert film and it was just fabulous. If you went to these shows- or the Loch Lomond shows the weekend before, I think Shoe did- then you’ll absolutely love it. It was one of the best days ever for me (I went on the Sunday) and this brought back a lot of happy memories

I saw The French Dispatch today and it was strange even by Wes Anderson standards. It's three different stories told one after the other. I still loved it though. Also, I was in a really fancy screen at the cinema that had reclining seats and it was lovely and quiet and I went alone!

We watched Dune last night and thought it was a great adaptation. I have read most of the books and MrW has read them all. I was worried that it wouldn't work (given the previous attempts). The casting was nearly perfect and cinematography was amazing.
I really want them to make the second film to fully finish the story but they ended it at a good point.

The second film has been confirmed for next year, I think, Wiggle. Or maybe 2023?

I fancy The French Dispatch.

Oh I hope so. The last thing I read was they were waiting to see how well this first film had performed.

I saw Dune at the weekend too, I’m not a sci-fi fan but have read the books and seen the previous film. I thought it was good but probably half an hour too long. I’m not usually a fan of dream sequences though so that didn’t help. The sand worms were awesome though.
