I read on a fan forum that one of the ways they could make a new actor work would be by making the Daniel Craig's Bond a prequel to the others in a timey wimey Dr.Who and River Song kind of arrangement.
Not sure if that would work or not.

We watched it yesterday. I thought it was really quite good, but would have preferred it if Rami Malek wasn’t disfigured, and the girl wasn’t his daughter. I don’t see how what happened matters to the films & re-casting the role, it can’t have all been in the one timeline anyway, otherwise he’d be about 120 years old.
