I thought about Dune but went to see Last Night In Soho.

I really liked it but it was so odd! (And made me homesick for London) it starts as one type of film, turns into another and then a third. It was done really well and so clever technically
My friend and I saw this on Friday! It went on slightly longer than it should have done, but I really enjoyed it.

And I just got back from the first showing of Ghostbusters Afterlife. I really, really liked it.

Another upvote for Ghostbusters here, I loved it. I can’t remember if anyone already said this upthread, but if you do see it, stay all the way through the credits.

We saw House of Gucci today. It was quite enjoyable but overly long. I think it would have made a good miniseries. Some bits were hammered home and others skimmed over too quickly. It was a spectacle though.

I saw West Side Story yesterday, it was very good. And because I had to wear a mask I could lip sync all the words without anyone noticing.

Lake Mungo, available on Amazon. Very creepy.

Last night in Soho - I watched it over a couple of evenings so that might be why it felt disjointed. The lead actress had an annoying breathy voice and there were some plot holes but it was ok.

I saw West Side Story at the weekend and loved it. It’s grittier than the original but still has lots of feel good factor through the songs.

My sister and I used to love watching it when we were little but our VHS tape ran out after the Officer Krupke song, so I’d never seen the end before!

And what did you think to the end?

I still fancy that one Kleio; I never made it to the cinema to see it. I've just booked us tickets to see the new Spider-Man on Boxing Day. :fc:

I've booked for Spider-Man for Monday afternoon but will be in the vicinity of the cinema tomorrow morning after dropping my car in for repairs so I'm tempted to catch a 9.30 showing then and to refund the Monday ticket.

Well! I don’t want to spoiler it :) but it was sad and emotional, and shocking at times. You know, the more I think about the more I think my parents had some involvement in us not seeing the end. It’s like when the dog escaped from our back garden and ran off to the farm or when my goldfish accidentally fell into the toilet and swam away

I have never seen the original WSS movie, but know the musical backwards (it was our school production in one f my senior years, I was one of the Jet girlfriends  ) and grew up on the absolutely A-MAY-Zing recording Leonard Bernstein made in the 1980s with proper opera singers in all the singing roles. I will definitely stream the new version when it’s available.

Looking forward to seeing Spider-Man at some stage!

The four of us just got back from the new Spider-Man and it’s the first Marvel film that I’ve enjoyed almost as much as Endgame. We all laughed and cried and it was absolutely brilliant; a rare example where we all universally loved a film.

People applauded when a certain person came on screen in our viewing.

We saw Spider-Man on Thursday, and loved it - at various points the audience were clapping and cheering, it was such a lovely experience!

Same. I’m so gutted I knew about it, I’ve always been so careful about spoilers etc and I definitely would have been one of the gaspers so I’m annoyed I’ve missed out on it. But it was still brilliant.

I saw Spiderman yesterday and loved it. I had no idea of the plot so was a gasper. It was great!

We’ve just been to see Spider-Man today and loved it. MrE made J and S watch all of the previous ones they hadn’t seen over the past week (they’d only seen the ones in the latest MCU) which was very helpful.
