Wall-E is lovely. I like Ponyo and Despicable Me too, and was pleasantly surprised by Tangled. The Jungle Book is probably my favourite though.

From the old Disney ones I love Sleeping Beauty and Robin Hood. Then Monsters Inc, Toy Story 1 & 3, Wall-E. I'm not a huge Shrek fan. I keep meaning to watch Despicable Me.

I was disappointed with Tangled and Despicable Me. I'm actually excited for the Monsters Inc college movie.

It sounds like a lot of you have seen and like most of the films I like. I've never managed to get through the whole of Finding Nemo, or The Incredibles, but that's probably my fault for watching them on a Sunday afternoon. Spirited Away is worth a look for anyone wanting to start a Studio Ghibli journey. The Nightmare Before Christmas is the only film I've ever walked out of the cinema on, but I do mean to give it another chance one day.

I shouldn't really be surprised by the quality of these kinds of films. The standard of writing is generally phenomenal, and the medium allows any story to be told.

I find a lot of things suffer from being hyped. I missed any publicity surrounding Despicable Me and Tangled, but have just watched Up for the first time and, apart from the first and last 10 minutes, was completely underwhelmed.

I like a lot of animated movies which is a good job with my two film addicts who both adore the bad guys and are already enjoying slightly scaring themselves.

My favourites are Brave, Tangled, The Madagascars, The Little Mermaid, Up, Monsters Inc, The Toy Stories, Robin Hood, Fox and Hound, Watership Down*, Cinderella, Flight of Dragons.

Flight of Dragons is my absolute favourite. I adore it so much and still know it word for word. I've never met any one outside my family that is aware of it and I'm now desperate to see it again but only have it on VHS.

*i think this is still too scary for Cube (even though the freak would live it) so I'm leaving it a while.

I was of the impression that most thought that the Snowman was beautiful, but nobody has mentioned it yet.

It is but it's far too short.

I've been googling for DVDs of Flight of the Dragons ever since posting. I'm excited about introducing it to my kids.

I love Monsters Inc, Madagascar and the Toy Story films, they are so well done and the scripts are brilliant. I've never really been into Disney stuff but I do like Jungle Book, the songs are great.

I haven't seen Up or Brave, I recorded Up today and I shall borrow Brave from TTN who got it for Christmas.

Howl's Moving Castle (another good place to start if you're thinking of a bit of Studio Ghibli - it's based on a story by Diana Wynne Jones, who I love) and Monsters, inc for me.

I am not a fan of animated films. I hated Disney as a child. My parents had to take me out of the cinema during Snow White as I was petrified of the wicked witch. Although I did enjoy Shrek and Toy Story.

A timely thgread as we've bought J some dvds for his second birthday next week. I think we got him Cars, the Lion King and another one? I also love The Incredibles, Monsters Inc and Beauty and the Beast. And Wall-E - w went to see that at the cinema when it came out. I watched Tangled on a plane a while ago and quite enjoyed that.

Of the Old Skool Disney cartoons I have a huge soft spot for The Rescuers.
