I’ve watched all of them three times and it gets funnier and funnier to me. The entire cast are brilliant and Jamie D is a genius, I think.

I'm going to try to find both of these. We watched another Aussie series, Fisk, and loved it.

I tried to like Stath Lets Flats and just couldn't get into it. Maybe we didn't give it long enough to develop.

I honestly think Jamie D is the absolute best thing in comedy, I think he’s a genius. Any mention of Stath and I can’t help but fan girl. My eldest absolutely refuses to watch it and it kills me

Similar type of comedy that makes me absolutely laugh out loud is What We Do In The Shadows which is all on Disney but is sometimes on iPlayer I think. I think I just find anyone in the Demetriou family really funny. Not one for the girls, though.

Having also binned off SLF after one episode, I looked it up again and found it referred to as a cringe comedy, along the lines of Alan Partridge and The Office, which makes sense. Generally I’m not keen on that genre (I did watch the latter back in the day but always say it was despite David Brent!).

Is that based on the film Luce? I don’t think I made it to the end of that.

P didn’t watch Life on Mars first time round so we’re giving that a go.

I hope nobody minds me saying if I tried your recommendations previously and didn’t like them. I do it in the spirit of helping refine what might appeal, and do appreciate the suggestions! :hbeat:

I remembered a couple of other things we tried. We watched every Endeavour and keep threatening to watch all the old Morse episodes. We couldn’t be arsed with the new Full Monty series after the first episode.

Sproglette watched all of Modern Family and is now watching New Girl. I never minded the former but also never sought it out to watch. The bits I’ve seen of New Girl were dire.

Have you watched Brokenwood Mysteries, it’s a NZ crime on Drama (I think) and it’s like Midsummer at its peak, if not slightly more humorous.

I like Five bedrooms too, but don’t always remember it as it’s weekly.

I always recommend giving Taskmaster a go - there is the bleeped version if the girls want to try it. The odd series are usually better (to us) than evens.

Have you tried Shakespeare and Hathaway? Very light and silly, but good family viewing, with all episodes currently on iPlayer.

There is a new series of The Bear, but to be honest I am struggling with it.

NO! SERIES 2 OF THE BEAR IS THE ACTUAL BEST THING ON TELLY! Oh my god, I wish I'd never seen it so I could go back and watch. The christmas episode. The cameos. The redemption arc! The FEEL GOOD.

Hopefully it improves then but I am on the third episode and the entire show is literally just filler of Sydney eating things.

I will keep going, I did like the first series.

I found the Bear far too stressful, especially the Christmas episode. I could see that it was well done but I didn't actually enjoy watching it. I found Sydney really irritating and I loathed Richie with a passion.

It sounds like I'm just saying this but I found the first 3 episodes the most boring, especially Sydney eating things. It just ramps up.

I think the bit with Ritchie in the car with Taylor Swift is probably one of the most uplifting few seconds of tv that I've ever felt. I watch it on TikTok most days, just for a little boost.

I’ve stalked at Christmas with The Bear, but just because of not finding time. I love it so much.

Have you tried Jonathan Creek? It’s got that cosy crime solving stuff that it sounds like you like from some of your watches?
