I love it. It's quite awkward though. I wonder who has sex on their wedding night

They were so sweet, I really hope it works out for them. Shame that the 3rd couple didn't go through with it though.

I'm finding this very interesting but I don't think either couple will last the distance.
James seems like such a nice guy but destined to get hurt.

I'm just catching up with the first episode of this, as it sounds fascinating. I'd be quite curious to know how P and I would fare on the matching process, particularly the 300 question thing. I also wonder how differently we'd have done before we met, as I think we've both adapted to the other and have developed more similar interests over the years.

I also wonder how they got round the relationship test interview bit of the giving notice, as I thought that was a legal thing.

Re: Married At First Sight
I loved our version of the series.
We had 4 couples. 3 of them have split since (one during the show) and the bride of one of the couples has married an ex of hers since (the series was filmed about 12 months ago). My favourite couple are still together and seem very happy, although they unfortunately had a miscarriage recently.
In the Oz version it was a type of commitment ceremony, not a legally binding ceremony.Kenickie wrote:I also wonder how they got round the relationship test interview bit of the giving notice, as I thought that was a legal thing.

I really like the dark haired couple and they were very tactile so I reckon it's a consummated Union.
The others don't seem to be in to it, she (blondey) looks very uncomfortable but he's trying to make it work.

Kate and Jason were quite moving, but Emma and the other guy just looked awkward.
I wonder if it's because both Kate and Jason are a bit more attractive so it was easier for them to like each other.

I was trying to think of a nice way to put that. But it is harder to get the thunderbolts for someone who you don't find devastatingly attractive at first glance. And it doesn't have the normal sort of opportunity to emerge as you get to know them when you're already married.

You see she was struggling to find a compliment when she mentioned his eyes.

Yeah, I found Emma and James really uncomfortable to watch and was cringing for them both - she seemed to be feeling so awkward and I can't see them working and can imagine James being the one to be hurt.
Kate and the other guy did seem to be getting quite into it so will be interested to see how that goes.

On the American series, one of the women spends the whole day in tears because she's so unattracted to her new groom. But they fall completely in love and it's lovely. Twitter tells me they're sickeningly in love still.

Flashback to psychology A level! That's a thing; if you get to like someone you didn't like to begin with, you can end up liking them more than someone you liked from the start .

Interesting! I have this with a number of my closest female friends (not in a sex way!) What's the phenomenon called?Squirrel wrote:Flashback to psychology A level! Re: Married At First Sight
It's funny how Emma & James seem to have started off less keen but are staying the distance - and it's the opposite for Jason & Kate. However, James would drive me absolutely fucking mental, I can't bear overly tactile men, and I think he's a bit needy.
Jason is a twat though. He's trying to ghost her.
