I'm hooked on Science Vs. Takes all the mad stuff you see spouted as fact and looks for evidence. So vaccines, big foot, renewable energy, gun control in the US etc.

Atlanta Monster if you're into true crime.

The social history interwoven throughout the story is fascinating.

It's fantastic, isn't it?

I'm fully caught up which is a shame but I might listen to it again.

I really like the way it's produced with the archive audio etc.

I think I'm fully caught up now. I'm up to Episode 8? What do you think so far?

Also is anyone listening to West Cork on Audible? It's really good.

I have no idea what to think. I do agree that if he did it he can't have done them all but there's something about him that makes me uneasy.

I should qualify that with I think he's a fantasist.

I was ready to believe him and then he started to refer to himself in the third person and I decided he was guilty of everything.

I've listened up to Episode 6. I also feel much more dubious about his innocence since they started interviewing him. Lots of episodes left though.

I've had to relisten to whole sections of it because I find some of the accents impenetrable

I'm still working my way through My Favourite Murder thanks to Ruby's recommendation but I spotted this today and it sounds good.

I've finished Atlanta Monster now (or at least, I've listened to the 12 episodes, I wasn't entirely clear if that was the end or not?). I found it interesting but did anyone else struggle with the way it was formatted? I can't really explain fully what I mean, but I found the different aspects of the story difficult to follow at times.

Yes! I wish he'd pick a thread and stick to it. Like when there was a very brief mention of whether the murders continued after the arrest or the geographical plotting of them - when is he going to pick that up again? Or is that it? Too many threads, too much opinion, not enough fact.

I tried to buy the book they reference but it's out of print so it's several squillion pounds to buy on Amazon.

Yes, there were so many tantalising whiffs of things I wanted him to dwell on more, but he didn't. I didn't find there was enough narration to lead you through it. It was so often just random people talking. I think this is where Serial was so brilliant, if someone was interviewed you knew why, what linked them, and you felt like the threads of the story were all relatively well bottomed out.

I’m listening to it now - episode 7, I think - and am a little frustrated with how fragmented it is. Serial definitely set the bar high.

Has anyone listened to Payne Lindseys first podcast - Up & Vanished? Its about a woman in Georgia who went missing in 2005. Its much more compelling than Atlanta Monster.

I'm about 5 episodes deep in that right now, smal. It's much better than Atlanta Monster so far except for the infuriating amount of adverts.

The story seems more carefully constructed too.

I'm up to Ep 16 now. There's a loads of extra episodes (case files and Q&As) which I skipped out. But come back when you've heard more please because I want to chew the fat about it with someone.
