I search periodically to see if the judge-only trial has taken place, so thanks!

They did a new podcast about it, The Teacher's Trial.

The judge spent at least 4 hours handing down his verdict today! I’m not sure how usual that is, but he went into a lot of detail around his findings.

There are new episodes of The Coming Storm. I've also been listening to Sali Hughes' podcast, Beyond The Bathroom which has had some good guests on it.

I’m just on the last episode. It’s very compelling. Glad you are both enjoying!

I am very much enjoying A Podcast to the Curious: initially about M R James stories but now branching out into general spooky story-telling.

I am going off Something Rhymes with Purple a bit; they repeat quite a lot of the words & poems they use, and Suzie is a bit wet, always saying something is horrible. :ella:

Has If Books Could Kill been mentioned yet? It’s a new one by Michael Hobbes (of Maintenance Phase). Really good.

Chris Dawson (Teachers Pet) has been sentenced to 24 years in prison, he will qualify for parole after 18 years and only if he discloses where Lynette's remains are, he's 74 now so he could be in there until he's 98.

He maintains his innocence and is hoping to appeal, apparently, so I don't see him getting parole as an almost centenarian.

I started listening to an ITV news pod about Partygate but I'm not sure I'll be able to keep listening. I'm only one episode in and I can feel my blood boiling already!

I definitely couldn't listen to that. I'm really limiting my "news" exposure in 2023 in a bid to stop the rage. I may have to chuck The Rest Is Politics in as a result. Rory Stewart says some right stupid shit sometimes.

Comfort Blanket, hosted by Joel Morris is well worth a listen. He asks a celeb to talk about something that brings them comfort, that they watch when feeling poorly or discovered again during lockdown. Usually it’s a movie or tv series but I’ve listened to Samir’s Ahmed talk about Sheila Ferguson’s soul food cookbook and it was just lovely to hear their conversation together. The show about the Goonies with Ingrid Oliver was great, Grease with Isy Sutie and the chap out of comedy shows talking about the music videos of Madness was absolutely spot on too.

I dip in and out of that; some episodes are great, but I'm not so interested in people/things I don't know. I don't know how Grease could be considered Isy Sutie's comfort blanket when she says she's only watched it twice!

BBC Sounds has a fantastic dramatisation of The Dark is Rising. Spellbinding, especially when you listen with earphones.

I'm so disappointed in Michael hobbes at the moment. He's striding all over twitter raging about people who are looking properly at the research evidence for transition for children.

Ah that’s why I have him blocked on Twitter. I’m glad he left You’re Wrong About.
