I am LOVING Cheer

I have done the same with Cheer, too, Shoe! It was so good. Honestly by halfway through the series I was rewinding re-watching the stunts and critiquing them to myself I absolutely loved it and am weirdly pissed off that I never had anyone like Monica pushing me at anything as a kid.

Partner and I thought we'd watch one episode of Cheer last night... at 3am we were still watching it. And I wonder why I get migraines.

Right, I gave up Cheer after one episode, think I'll need to dive back in after you're all saying the same thing.

I think I'm quite late to this but I'm really enjoying Street Food. Some of the stories are a little sad but overall it's a lovely, gentle programme.

I'm also watching Deep Water but they introduced so many characters in the first episode that I got a bit lost.

Not Netflix but there is a Storyville 2 parter on iPlayer about the Jonestown mass suicide in the 70s. I'm only half way through but am totally gripped. I'd always assumed that they were all still brainwashed at the end and "willingly" killed themselves but it's so much more complicated than that; they were trapped. It's incredibly sad but absolutely fascinating.

Cheer is on MrE’s list to watch (on account of his great love of Bring It On) I shall watch with him because of this thread.

I watched that last week Luce. The scenes of the bodies! So many bodies.

Jonestown was absolutely fascinating. Horrifying. Coercive control and physical/emotional abuse on a huge scale.

While we're on non Netflix things the disappearance of Margaret Fleming was fascinating and heartbreaking.

The court filming was so interesting!

J used to live in the town where they lived but moved away long before the police got involved. He remembers how much of an eyesore the house was.

The house! Dear God. How do people live like that?!
I'd have been interested to hear more about the almighty fuck up that was no one from SS bothering to check for 18years.

I honestly could barely watch that bit. The rising sense of tension and foreboding.

:mog: I was trying to remember one of your anecdotes about this murder when I was talking to my sister. Didn't your mum ask the woman of she'd done it or something?

Which young bloke is the fantasist? The one who went to school with her?

The one that took her to the prom or something? I did think that sounded completely made up.

It wasn't funny really but I had to laugh at the faces on the defence team when the defendant guy started giving his 'evidence'.

The village did look beautiful.
