Could the discussion of the queen's gambit go in another thread please so it doesn't spoil it for those of us who haven't watched yet?

My brain just went “oh, Simon in Nanny McPhee” when I saw him. I don’t like Love Actually :heresy: so I didn’t recognise him from there.

Staged is on Netflix now. It made me laugh a lot. I love David Tennant and Michael Sheen together, they've got amazing chemistry.

Channel 5 put one on every afternoon and a triple bill on a sunday, so their My5 app is a treasure trove. Someone told me anyway :uhh: I was watching a gritty thriller, obvs

I just watched My Octopus Teacher on Netflix. I don't normally watch animal things because I get too upset but my dad recommended it and after a recent occasion when I blocked him on WhatsApp we are only just back on speaking terms and animals are pretty much the only thing we can talk about safely.

Anyway, it was magical. A bit sad but in a good way. Watch it.

I think even you might be able to deal, Ella. But this might be like the time I accidentally broke Pip by making her watch Lion.

It is really fantastic. One of the best series I’ve watched in a long time.

We've just rewatched the Christmas Chronicles in anticipation of the sequel coming out on Wednesday.

I'm not sure if I enjoyed Jingle Jangle.

I’m never watching anything you recommend ever again. You destroyed me.

We did that with The Christmas Chronicles too Brambs. That made me cry again too, but not as much Lion. Just describing it to someone else can set me off and I am not a cryer.

This but i watched CC yesterday.

I didn’t not enjoy Jingle Jangles but I didn’t enjoy it either. Perhaps I expected too much of it.

I finished The Queen’s Gambit tonight, too. Anya Taylor-Joy has such an interesting face. I loved her in Emma, I think it’s my favourite version.

I love/hate the whatever the man's name is who is responsible for Dear John and The Notebook so will excitedly watch this. I once spent a brilliant afternoon, alone with a raging hangover, eating cold sausages and shouting OHMYGODYOUHAVETOBEFUCKINGKIDDINGMEWITHTHIS while simultaneously crying. :disco: If Emily in Paris was good rage/love viewing, this sounds perfect.

Nicholas Sparks.

I saw a trailer in the GBBO final last night for the new Shondaland, Bridgerton, which will be on Netflix from Christmas Day. It's set in the Regency and is based on a series of books I've read by Julia Quinn. Think Jane Austen meets Jilly Cooper. It should hopefully be good.
