We’re binging on I’ll Get This on iPlayer. It’s hilarious.

Re: Recommendations for other channels - ye olde TV
We watched The Investigation over the last week, its
a Danish dramatisation of the case of the journalist who was murdered and dismembered by a scientist who had built his own submarine. It was really well done, with no gory scenes, and sensitively handled. It also gave very little focus to the accused which I liked, it was all about the police's efforts to build a case, and the effect on the family of the victim.

I’ve just finished episode 4 of that Sally. I’m watching it as it’s broadcast rather than on iPlayer.

I’ve just discovered Back on Channel 4 aka middle aged Peep Show. I’m enjoying it so far

We’re behind the rest of the world and watching The Serpent. It’s good but, my god, it made me feel sick with stress last night!

Pillars of the Earth is back on My5. It has a young Rufus Sewell, an even younger Eddie Redmayne and various other big names in the cast. Ian McShane is a fantastically evil baddie.
It is set in the 12th Century, and is about lots of things, but the main story is about a builder who has a dream of building a cathedral, and the politics between the Church and the State. Well worth a watch if you like that sort of thing.

We rewatched that last year. It’s very binge worthy.

I watched that a few weeks ago, it’s great. We’ve got World without End lined up after we’ve finished MAFSAus.

Started watching the Drowning on C5 last night. I fell asleep towards the end but it was good. Jill Halfpenny hasn’t aged a bit. Unless Botox.

Oh I loved Pillars of the Earth. The book too. I might give that a rewatch.

If people haven’t seen it, I can highly recommend The Great, on C4. It’s brilliant, I love it enormously. I have an inappropriate crush* on Nicholas Hoult even though his character is loathsome.
*since I remember him as a wee babby from About A Boy.

The Terror is coming to BBC 2 and iPlayer soon. It's based on the novel by Dan Simmons about the Franklin Expedition and it's absolutely wonderful.

Late to the party but we started watching Its a Sin this evening. I really like it, but its so sad. I can remember all the stuff about Aids, the ignorance and discrimination were just awful.

Has anyone watched The Drowning on channel 5? Given the cast I was expecting it to be good(ish) but the script and the plot holes were laughable.
However, it was only 4 episodes long and it isn’t a bad “ish he/isn’t he” so I’ll half recommend it.

The Drowning started off really well but the conclusion was ridiculous.

The way she got the job!
The ending felt like the script writers realised it was nearly 5pm and they wanted to hurry up and get home.

I saw an interview with JH that said they stopped filming halfway through due to lockdown and restarted 6 months later. I think they couldn’t be arsed with it in the end.

I know how they felt . I started so I finished, but it was a load of twaddle by the end.

We finished Its a Sin tonight, I really loved it, I just found so incredibly sad though. All those young lives lost, and people having to hide who they were.
