Oh I liked the sound of The Duke but it wasn’t screened here.

It's a nice way to while away the time, Hazey. But the accents were appalling.

It hadn’t occurred to me to see it until I saw a trailer and was transfixed. Hoping to go next week

I saw the end of the original the other day and the amount of swearing was really strange to hear. It really pinpointed the difference between an old 15 and a new 12A.

I saw Top Gun today too. I thought it was ridiculous but I absolutely loved it.

I thought it was brilliant. Even Squeak liked it and she was scoffing at bits in the first half. I mean, she wasn’t wrong, but I just loved how it was faithful to the original, and just corny enough.

I really wanted to take P to see it but there’s just been no free evening. We’re miles from a cinema here and we’re away camping when it comes to the town hall at the end of June.

We watched Top Gun (1986) last night in preparation for Top Gun (2022) tomorrow and I was actually nicely surprised by how well it held up. And amused by how's much of the script I'd retained. :))

With a history of high speed passes over five air control towers and one Admiral's daughter...

Squeak turned to me about 1/3 of the way in and said “you fancy him, don’t you?” and I had to confess yes, I do. I don’t want to, but for a 59 year old culty shortarse, he’s very attractive.

Oh no Pip. I think you need to have a long hard think about that and how wrong you are.

He's a proper film star though, isn't he? Old school. I understand the appeal. I want to go and see it soon.

I’ve tried to make myself dislike Tom Cruise for years. I fully believe his is an absolute nut job. But I’ve never been able to succeed and I can’t help but love him. He was my very first crush.

Me and Fe went to see this the other day and both loved it. Was also the first time I’ve been to the cinema with just my eldest since 2019. So it was bloody lovely.

Me too, I think he's an absolute creep. I never really liked him, I was a Matt Dillon fan in the Brat Pack days.
