Sex parties!

Very dull. What with it being conference season I was really hoping it was about the Conservatives all being massive nonces or something.

It is rather a let down.

I wonder if they thought this was going to be juicy and were waiting for legal sign off just before C4 swooped in with Brand and held back for a couple of weeks.

There's plenty in the UK government they could investigate, they could start with money given to that arsehole Micelle Mone!

Disappointing. I was rather hoping for a David Walliams expose. I wonder if they've had the A&F one in reserve and have pulled another one for legal reasons.

Three major news outlets pulled stories on that disgusting pig Dan Wootton last night, coincidentally.

Why would they pull them?

Probably because his lawyers have questioned something. My understanding is that they have a right to see anything before it goes out, and they can ask for proof of any allegations.

They were only just finishing off the A&F thing literally just before the Dispatches. I know this because Mr R voiced one of the interviewees and went in to the BBC to record it around then. When he got the script I remember thinking that sex parties at a mostly very American clothes company seemed an odd choice for a Panorama. And then Brand thing broke and I thought, in comparison, this is gong to seem very pale.

I wanted to yell "IT'S NOT WALLIAMS!" on this thread when you were all speculating  but Mr R was heavily NDAd (ironic really given the use of NDAs by A&F)

Dan Wootton is such a vile thing.

Why do you say that, lazzie? I was thinking it will be game over for him this time.

I suspect his lawyers will argue that he can't get a fair trial after the Dispatches programme and all the publicity.

Rape conviction rates are already depressingly pow and historic rape conviction rates are much worse. Gah. Here's hoping I'm being a gloom-monger!

Oh yes, but I was hoping that the dispatches thing would have been cleared by lawyers to within an inch of its life, so it wouldn't compromise anything. Maybe too optimistic though.

I think it will be game over for RB in many respects. He has made a very conscious move- cleverly, I suppose- to appeal to exactly the sort of right-wing nuts and conspiracy theorists that he would have so roundly taken the mick out of in his earlier career, and he has found a sympathetic audience there. I watched the reel where he claimed his "fooolish" behaviour before he started "living in the light of the Lord" was all consensual and it sounded so terribly insincere. He no more believes in the Lord than I believe the moon is made of cheese.

I do hope (for her own sake as much as anything) that his wife will leave him.

Yeah, I absolutely cannot believe that his wife his still with him, that is mind-boggling. Or not, I suppose, but still.
