Ooh, I’ve bought that too
.
I’m just coming to the end of Great Circle, which was recommended by my MIL, and she has very good taste in books. It’s very good, albeit hard to follow at the start.
I've got that on my library list ready to start.

My brother got me a booked called Talking With Psychopaths and Savages A Journey Into The Evil Mind so that will be a lovely start to the new year.

Interesting. I don’t know which one, but both my MIL and my SIL were saying that not all of that author’s books were as good as Great Circle (in the context of it being a shame, I mean). I’ll look it up anyway because I love finding a new author to like.

I enjoyed Great Circle as well - although I do remember enjoying the historical story much more than than the one in the present.
Recent reads here:
It Ends With Us - book club read and, after thinking I wouldn't really get on with it after the first couple of chapters, AWFUL names aside, I actually really enjoyed it and it had a lot more substance than I would had given it credit for at first.
Vladimir - really enjoyed this - very well written (if a bit farcical in places).
The Exhibitionist - novel about family dynamics in a north London bohemian, artistic family, it hasn't engaged me at all.

You’ll easily get through Small Things Like These to make your 30.
I’m going to try and finish off a Cazalet book (no. 3) before New Year.

He knows me well and I tthink he appreciated a book I gave to him debating how humans can thwart AI from killing us.

Just as I feared. Fuck it, the diet's off if the humanoid robots are coming for me.

I'm keeping fit in the futile hope I can outrun the fuckers.

Certainly, that's one viable strategy. The other is to become so big that they can't drag me off to their robot lair when they find me.

The transparency act of 2017 implores me to admit to being unable to outrun my chocolate input to face versus my mountain climber rubber to tarmac output. In layman's terms - Siri, book my winch and might as well dig my grave while you're at it.

I've got more time for reading now, so I started The School for Bad Mothers which is GREAT. I think I must have picked up on it from Barack Obama's round up of his favourite books of the year and he's not wrong.
So much to talk about already and I'm not even halfway through. Has anyone else read it?
Turns out it's The School for Good Mothers but hey. I just finished it and can't get over how good it was. Wow.

Good, bad, it's all the same to me.
On to Richard Osman's third one now.
