The Ghost Theatre was really disappointing. It could have been really good if I’d be able to care more about the characters, or if the bird worship had been explained just a bit more.

I’ve just finished Someone else’s shoes by Jojo Moyes. I did not enjoy it but felt I had to power through.

I read that a while back, Est, and thought it was very average.

I’ve just finished The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker - the siege of Troy from the point of view of a Trojan woman, Breisis, captured and given to Achilles as a war prize. Brutal but very good. I read Song of Achilles recently too, so feel like I’ve done both sides now!

Paging SalMac! How many Slow Horses books have you read? Because I’m on book #4 (addicted to the TV series and needed to know what happens next) and I’ve just hit a MOMENT. Woah.

I'm still reading Crypt; it's so fact-heavy that I'm having to do it in small doses, so I'm interspersing it with the Marlow Murder Club books.

Pip! Someone I know at Matlock French class was talking about your sister's bookshop in glowing terms last week.

I read A Place of Execution which is a stand alone Val McDermid novel, it was a bit bleak and the ending was quite unrealistic. I normally like her stuff but didn't really enjoy this one.

The new Marian Keyes book is out tomorrow so I think I might get that.

I’m racing through the Slough House books. They’re really addictive.

I am being weirdly resistant to the Slough House books, and I think it's because Gary Oldman is so so good at being so so ick in the series. :)) I mean, you wouldn't stand near him on public transport, would you? :toomuch:

I have just demolished Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep, the first Philip Marlowe book and I suspect I am joining a long, long list of people who have a massive crush on Marlowe. :love2: And they are so beautifully, beautifully written. :love2:

I read somewhere that Gary Oldman insisted on Lamb being as close to the book portrayal as possible. I think you’d enjoy the books Bats.

Book #8 now. I’ve no idea how I’ll cope when I’m done.

I’m on a Liane Moriarty loop just now. I just finished The Husband’s Secret. Not as good as Big Little Lies but readable.

There's a new Liane Moriarty book out this year.

I read the new Marian Keyes book over the last few days, and enjoyed it. It was a bit predictable but very easy to read.

I’m hugely into ‘cosy crime’ at the moment, what a horrid expression though.

Reading the Flora Steele mysteries by Merryn Allingham, think I’m on book 6 at the moment, and loving them.

They are included on my Kindle Unlimited, which is a bonus!

Also for anyone who likes Georgette Heyer I do like the books by Mary Kingswood, nice easy Regency Romance, and there’s plenty of them.
