I've added Henrietta Lacks to my list, it looks so interesting.

Silver Sparrow is about to come out in paperback - I've preordered it. I'm reading Bel Canto but finding it slow going compared to The Dutch House and Commonwealth.

Ooh, will look that one up.

(Bel Canto is so strange. I liked it, but it’s strange.)

Yeah I kind of am enjoying it but it's quite intense, I suppose. It's not making me want to read it for hours at a time.

Bel Canto was a perfect lockdown read. I’m still going on The Dutch House & not liking it as much. It’s funny how order affects your view of things.

Actually I finished The Dutch House last night. It was fine, very American in that dreamy, time jumping, family saga way.

Which one? Is it another thriller? I’m reading Watching You.

Before that, I read Who Sent Clement? by Keith Pearson. It was very easy story and enjoyable in a slightly silly way. There was one bit of the story that was frustrating (a character who seemed to get completely forgotten).

Have they taken out the reading challenge from the Goodreads app? It's all changed and I can't see it anymore.

My app hasn’t changed, I don’t think. It’s under my books at the bottom.

The reading challenge never worked for me. Loads of my books I'd read weren't appearing so the count was wrong.

I had that but then realised that I have to flag them as “Currently Reading” and then “Read” for them to go into my challenge.

Ohhhhh! I always just add them as read when I finish. I hardly ever do the currently reading thing. Thanks, that explains it.

Recently I've read a couple off the Booker long list (This Mournable Body which I didn't like at all - it was written in the second person for a start, and I didn't quite get the main character at all and The Shadow King which I really enjoyed).

I'm now reading Exciting Times for book club - millennial relationships set in Hong Kong by a young female Irish author. It's readable enough, well written enough, humorous enough but not a patch on Normal People.

Kindred was really good. I don't know what to read next. I pre-ordered Survivor and I think that is soon.

Ah thanks, it's in the same place as Pip's now. Everything used to be on a side menu before.

I have to add the date I finished reading to show it was this year for them to count in the challenge.

I read most books on my kindle and it dates them as read in GR when I give it a score at the end.

I have just finished All The Things I Never Told You, which was so sad and beautiful. And sad

I'm now reading The Thing About Clare by Imogen Clark. I loved Postcards From A Stranger but hope this one has a better twist than I already suspect at 14% :lg:

Did you catch Mark Ruffalo in the series All The Things, Lora? It was fantastically well done.

I am on Louis Theroux's Gotta Get Theroux This. I have got into him a lot since listening to his podcast and the episodes he did with Adam Buxton on his.

Is that Everything I Never Told You (Celeste Ng)?

I’m reading Silver Sparrow now. Thanks for the recommendation, pd.
