Gaudy Night was fun but quite dense in places. I like the feminist stuff throughout. I’m going to read more Deborah Levy now.

The Ann Cleeves wasn’t great. Maybe I’ve enjoyed the TV series too much to read the books now.

I’m alternating between a non-fiction on the history of Ireland and a Fredrick Backman. I have two of the Beartown trilogy so thought I’d make a start. I teared up by chapter 9 and LOLed in chapter 10, and it seems to be mainly about hockey.

Ok, so I'd read nothing about Beartown beforehand and I had no idea there was a TV series, so it sort of took an unexpected turn, using a plot device that often pisses me off. #nospoilers

However, it didn't in this case and I found the book both moving and funny and I didn't put it down and go to sleep until I'd finished it. I didn't even transfer to my Kindle (I'd forgotten it and had been reading on my phone's Kindle app).

I’m about to read The Perfect Golden Circle for my reading group. It looks interesting - I’ll report back.

In reading and enjoying Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow - Gabrielle Zevin.

It's got a similar vibe to Microserfs which I loved years ago.

I really liked Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.

I'm reading an Adele Parks book, it's OK but not very good really. It's set in WW1 which I usually like as a setting but the storyline is quite predictable.

I finished that book, it was a strange mix of a cheesy love story and depiction of the horrors of WW1, some of the latter I actually had to skim as the descriptions were so gory.

Which I whizzed through (Things I don’t want to Know), along with David Sedaris (Happy Go Lucky) and Gabrielle Zevin (Young Jane Young), all of which were excellent and make me want to read all their books.

Things I Don’t Want To Know is amazing, as are the other two in the Cost of Living trilogy.

I’m reading Swimming Home right now, which reminds me of the Ali Smith book. Is is The Accidental?

I've started on the next Beartown book, as I already have it. I then need to read Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow, which I have in paperback so have been saving for at home.

For anybody who didn't immediately get Jane Harper's Exiles when it came out, it's 99p on Amazon atm.
