I've just read the new one by Sarah Vaughan who did Anatomy of a Scandal, Little Disasters. It's good but about post partum mental health issues and some of the examples annoyed me - like worrying about your young baby being suffocated by soft toys in the cot being a sign of pathological anxiety. No, it's just following the SIDS guidelines!

I'm now on the new Adele parks which is about people who win the lottery and I'm massively envious already.

I finished Car Sick and it was a weird and wonderful as to expect from John Waters.

Now listening to The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle which is really interesting.

I'm not much of an audiobook person as I find it easy to tune it out.

I’ve just finished ‘The return of captain John emmett’ - enjoying getting through some of the books I’ve had hanging around here for ages but not had a chance to read yet, during this lockdown!

What a lovely book, very evocative and atmospheric. You know somethings well written when you can feel the chill of London in winter in a warm summers day.

I finished Where The Crawdads Sing yesterday and loved every single word of it. Wow.

Re-reading the Book of Dust now so I can finally start my copy of the Secret Commonwealth which I was given in October and have never got round to reading.

I'm reading We Need to Talk About Kevin now as I've never read it and Lionel Shriver is doing a thing for the Times online book club in a couple of weeks. It's longer than I thought it would be and I'm not entirely sure I like her style so far.

I used to like her writing, but once you've read a few, it really starts to put you off. The popcorn thing ("ritual") always comes up . Also, she's kind of a terrible person .

Has anyone read the Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth yet? It's about a bunch of kids who save the world and then what happens 10 years later. It's pretty fascinating
