Small incremental gains!

I’m going to set mine at 52 again. I think it’s achievable but not mad.

Mine was 30, I have achieved 31 so far so I think 2024 will be 31.

I think I'm doing 15 for next year and then will reassess depending on how I'm doing.

I'm on 46 out of 52 and I think that will be my lot now as I am reading Demon Copperhead and won't finish it before Monday.

I finished Janice Hallet's The Christmas Appeal - a relatively short, fun read.

I've hit my target of 104 books this year, the most I've ever read in a year.

I don’t keep a list or have a target - I might try this year.

I’ve got three books with me that are all set in snowy places for our trip to Sweden. The Magician’s Assistant by Ann Patchett, The Snow Child (Eowyn Ivey) and The Stillpoint (Amy Sackville). I’ve read them all before - but all good for a re-read.

I just read Are You Happy Now which had tones of tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow - i.e. it was quite millennial.

I keep a list but I don't set a target, for the same reason, I don't belong to a book club, I don't want pressure of reading certain books/a certain number of books.

I finished The Hunger Games this morning and I don't think I'll read the others, as I didn't really enjoy it much. I have the new Miriam Margoyles book so I'll read that next. I don't think I'll finish it by Sunday so my total for this year is 36 - fewer than last year but I had 6 weeks off sick last year so that gave me more time to read.

My final book of the year is Animals by Sara Pascoe. I’m really enjoying it so far and hope to finish it this weekend.

I quite fancy the idea of logging the books I've read - I don't feel the need to set a challenge, but because I read a lot AND listen to a lot, I often recommend a book to someone only to totally forget the title/author etc. It would also be good for when I'm reading a series and forget there's a new one due out.

I used to use Goodreads but now using StoryGraph.

I'll probably set the same challenge for 2024

I think i missed a couple of books i read in hard copy and forgot to add to goodreads, as i remembered I’d read Klara and the Sun this year but it wasn’t there. So I’ve beat my 23 book goal by at least two books. I have just finished The Change (wasn’t expecting it to turn into a murder mystery, which really isn’t my thing, but still found it enjoyable) and have now started A Thousand Ships but am unlikely to finish it by midnight tomorrow!
