Love those glasses, Jet.

I've had my KitchenAid mixer (in cream too :)) ) for a couple of years, and someone bought me the pasta attachment but I have never even opened the box. Perhaps I should give it a go soon. I use the mixer regularly though, most often for biscotti.

I love the kitchen aid purchases. I really want one too but my Kenwood is still going strong and KA is a big spend when I've already got a working mixer. I hope I'll be able to justify one to myself in the more affluent future.

I would like to get the ice cream maker attachment but will hold my horses for a while as I've spent enough!

The one and only time I've tried to make pasta the biggest problem was rolling the dough out thin enough, so I will definitely give it a go, even though I am more than happy enough with dried.

Yep

we have one but I am terrified of the damn thing

Mr D made raw soup a couple of times but it was just minging now it just sits there and is only really used for blending proper soups made on the hob

We have had ours a good few years and it was over £400 back then I think

I used to apply for grants for those Vitamixes for people going through cancer treatment.
The idea does sound minging though. What does it do that a pan on the hob can't? (I know I could google :)) )

Well, it sort of steams the veg as far as I can tell. Just because the blender is so damn powerful. Obviously it's not expected to compete with slow-cooked veg soup, they're just different.

I want it for smoothies, juices and sauces mostly. And very thick, delicious milkshakes. It obliterates everything to a smooth consistency.

My mum has got this soup maker, blender all in one thing that she keeps trying to give to me. It wasn't cheap either, but I wouldn't use it or have anywhere to put it.

The old one was a mechanical scale, but I could barely read the numbers. I've had electric scales before, but it got annoying when the battery died when I needed to weigh myself. This one has a large readout and is powered by sunlight, so no need for batteries!

I like your green glass dish Smalex - my mum has a yellow glass dish just like it, which was my Granny's. I have very fond memories of it as Granny kept sweets in it!

Lovely tea set too - will you use it? I have a yellow rose one which is very similar (also my Granny's) but I never think to take it out and use it.

more fond memories from me too, smal - the green dish is very similar to ones that I used to use when I was a child and on holiday at the lake cottage we used to visit - it makes me think of eating grapefruit segments because I was copying my mum's breakfast.

My mum already has a trifle set which used to be my nans, which is green glass in an art deco style, I love that.

I will try to use the tea set I think Demelza. My nan had two cabinets of cut glass she never used (EVER) and it annoyed me because things are for using IMO. I also have some totally different blue cloud chinaware from my other grandmother's house, its nice to have some pretty things from both.

My Kitchenaid pasta thing is scheduled to arrive tomorrow . Now to find somewhere to let it gather dust for 6 years :)).

The Kitchenaid itself made really good dough at the weekend. So little mess too.

I'd like to make pasta at home. I made pasta dough in my bread maker once, and then used a proper pasta roller to roll it out, and it was one of the only things I've ever made that was actually inedible :lol:

My kitchenaid pasta maker is sitting in its unopened box in the dog room. And I've still make nothing but cake in the mixer itself. Oops.
