Strange & Unusual Houses
Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
Oh god! First I saw the tiles. Then the suite. Then the carpet. I need to stop looking at it.

I quite like the tiles :shame: I promise I'd do away with the suite and the carpet though.

I like the tiles too, it's just the combination. The ceiling is the final straw.

That looks positively French, Mayday. Exactly what I expect to see, when house-hunting locally in SW France. Our own bathrooms were better than that, when we bought our place - orange carpet over walls and ceiling! (Very smelly - especially since the house had been empty for about 20 years. :vomit:)

I'd very happily keep those tiles.

Its the carpeted step up to the corner bath that clinches it for me. And the high level glazing, like a 1970's local authority office.

It's like something out of The Shining.

Interesting! I always thought carpet in the bathroom was a peculiarly British horror.
That bathroom is brilliant. In a museum sort of way.

That photo also shows you how much they have distorted the room with their wide lens thingy- the toilet looks like it's 4 feet wide :))

Yup, that is indeed a fixer upper price. Properly done out ones go for closer to £650,000. It's nuts.
The gold painted melty death tiles are brilliant.

That looks like the most uncomfortable lounge! I doubt anyone has ever lounged in it actually.

I'm loving the filing cabinets and the chair in picture 6, and a special mention goes out to the Egyptian statues in the utility room (pic 10):

That is a really ugly house from the front. And why don't people turn the telly off when the EA comes to take pics!

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
Are they colourblind?! That house is very monochrome.
And the kitchen wall cupboards in the one that Rebs posted take me back! I remember exactly the same wall units in my grandparents' and great aunt's kitchens. Would they be 1950's?
