You see loads of ice white/ blue lighting (in kitchens, gardens, christmas lights) and I find it really jarring.

Speechless.
What's going on with the non-stony wall? It has some sort of repeating design, but only 4 times which makes me think some kind of sticker? Maybe it's my favourite dystopian orders, like WATCH or RELAX.

No idea, that's the best picture of that wall. It reminds me of the error when you try to zoom in too close on google earth.November wrote:Speechless.

That room! It's sad and scary simultaneously. Which is just what you want from a living room.

That lighting makes it look like blue light in a nightclub. It's all terrifying.

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
I think the clock is centred but it looks off centre because of the angle of the bit of wall jutting out. Not that I'm trying to defend it, it's still hideous.

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
Are they male housemates in their late teens / early twenties making a "man cave"? If not, I really don't understand it. Is it still plasterboard on the right of the last photo, or text wallpaper?
ETA I see I missed discussion of the strange writing on the last page.

Definitely not, it's a couple and she's raving about how she'd rather spend money on her house than on going out and how clever he is.ParisGal wrote:Are they male housemates in their late teens / early twenties making a "man cave"?

I imagine them sitting side by side on that horrible sofa, eating identical microwave ready meals from the tray, wearing matching leisure suits and transfixed by Emmerdale.

It's awful. I just think bachelor pad when I see it. And not wanting to be all "housewife of the 50''s" but there's absolutely nothing feminine in that room. Not even the floral arrangements. Just awful.

Bachelor pads mostly don't have awful plastic flower arrangements, though. That room really saddens me, I can't imagine comfortably relaxing in it at all. :(

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
I am utterly amazed at that.
It reminds me of a neighbour I once had in the early 80's who decorated their house in a similar style. It wasn't fashionable then and it isn't fashionable now.

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
I'm really confused. Is it stone or pretend? With holes with flower pots in them?
Half-ten?! Half-ten?! I've never been up at half-ten! What happens?

It's like Chandler and Joey's chairs on Friends. But worse. It's very masculine - surely there isn't a woman living in that house?
