Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
The last two pages have sent me fully hysterical. The table is the sort of thing I'm going to remember in a desperately serious situation and rupture myself trying not to laugh.

Nice watermarking. Because that's really gonna get nicked and put on the front of Homes and Gardens :))

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
A former prison for medieval witches is being marketed to "someone connected to the paranormal industry" after failing to attract conventional buyers.
"The Cage" in St Osyth, Essex, saw a woman imprisoned as a witch in 1582.
The current owner said she experienced "hostile and active" haunting in the property, which is priced at £290,000 and has been for sale for six months.
Estate agents Lawrence Antony Homes said the house was "set up to accommodate a paranormal business".
Rightmove listing here.

Probably paranormal activity that left that kitchen cupboard door open . Honestly, just shut it for the pictures :verm:

Whether they're trying to attract a ghost hunting buyer or not, it would help if they hoovered the carpet.

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
Is that a burst of paranormal energy in pic12 or just a badly overexposed photo?

I like the tasteful witch on a broomstick thing hanging on the wall in pic 9. :woteva:
And pic 10 appears to have been taken during a massive unreported nuclear explosion in Clacton. Great photography skills there, Messrs Lawrence Antony. Bonus points for going on to include it in the listing.

I like how "reception room" is written, like they can't believe it either.

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
:ella: "'The Cage' was used as a medieval prison as recently as 1908" OK then. I know that's on the (misspelt) plaque, but what on earth does it mean.
The whole place is surprisingly filthy given the number of brooms there are lying around ;)

Yes it's a beautiful house, but that water feature? Serious taste failure chaps.
(It's only just down the road, I might nip in and tell them :)) )

Photo 11 is pointless, isn't it? The top of a chair, some manky curtains, and what looks like a dead penguin on the window sill.Caryn wrote:Is that an orb in photo 11???

Picture six. I think it's a shrunken head. Which is an unusual decorative feature to highlight.

There also appears to be just the memory of a bistro table and chair in picture 5. Homeopathic garden furniture, obviously.

I rarely read the text but should have made an exception :))
(I swear all of the agents down here are illiterate - according to the blurb on mine, it's on the 'Brighton/Hove boarder'

That grim, spooky house is in this Come Dine With Me (first night). The woman that owns it sells caravans.

My mate just posted this on Facebook, with the comment 'The chances of the current owner of this flat NOT being a ridiculous moustache-twirling steampunk hipster asshole are approximately zero.' I think he might be right. :))

Oh. But it could be so nice. Why does the current owner hate it? Poor nicely proportioned flat.

Oh, my. Never has so much dark wood been seen in so much abundance in one place. I think they're aiming for Arts and Crafts but hitting....something else.
The EA has clearly been moved to deploy an unusually high level of descriptive illiteracy. Even for an EA.

I like the last two pics. 28 shots of fancy arse period flat and then two of the gorgeous views.....over a council estate. :woteva:Bedrooms two and three enjoy views over the rear of the property both offering period features such as decorative coving and ceiling roses with feature "One Way Glass" and motorised black out blinds.
