Oh my God. Fair play to the person who could see past it all to put an offer in though.

And that house in Southend! :twitch: Del's right, it's a crime against what could be a lovely house.

I suppose except for the roof you're fairly safe with a mid-terrace.

Is that a mirror hung in front of the window over the sink? So you can gaze at your reflection while washing up :)

I thought it was going to be a farm

Those things are my pet hate in garden centres, I often wonder who buys them!

I've said this before but property in Hartlepool is a bargain!

NOTE: I've never actually been to Hartlepool.

I visit because my family are here but I couldn't move back. There's lovely parts and generally the people are friendly but the reason we got 'on our bikes' years ago are still prevalent.

I can see how those quote stickers can be difficult to get hold of, so why not write motivational shite on the wall instead  ?:

I know I bang on about the way houses are presented but the rest of it is doing it no favours either. There is nothing particularly wrong with the property itself but the pictures are awful and it is a complete mess. I will never understand how people expect to sell their houses in a competitive market when they just don't have a quick tidy up for the pictures :verm:.

Oh dear - also, put some dog food away from the window outside, so your canine friends aren't staring dejectedly through the window.

The curtain rail! The dirty dishes! The ripped office chair in the very centre of the picture! It's like everybody left in a hurry.

Mmm, ex-council maisonette in the worst bit of Greenhill, with wall vandalism and damp bathroom. Let me think.... no.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

I always assume it's a rental and the tenants don't give a shit. That house gives me the shudders.

It must be that, Squirrel. An acquaintance just posted on FB that her flat is "on sale" (surely it's for sale?), linking to the RM page. There are 3 ugly photos. She's not the most aware person around, but it's a rental and presumably there's virtually nothing you can do about the look of a property you're selling while someone else is living in it - presumably someone who's going to have to move when they didn't want to, too.

Don't hold back rosy

Squirrel I think you might be right (although I do think some people just don't care and assume potential buyers will look past the clutter). We looked at a house recently that looked amazing in the photos. When we arrived to view it we found out it was tenanted and the whole place was such a state. Stuff everywhere, filthy and stinking of smoke. It's been on and off the market for a year or so, popping up every now and again with a different agent. I've since found out that almost immediately after they moved in, the owner put it up for sale, which seems a very underhand thing to do. I really felt for those tenants, so I could see why they wouldn't bother.

To an extent the estate agent is to blame too. I mean, would it have killed them to move the ripped office chair out of shot? I know you can't polish a turd but they've not helped either.

I was thinking about that smal, then thought they must not want to touch other people's nasty stuff? I would wear disposable gloves :)).
