Oh, sorry! I missed kiwi's post and thought you meant La Perla had been full of needles. I need another cup of tea.

Korean bbq!
You bastard, I've just had quinoa vegan sushi and a mocktail.
(it was actually nice.)

Parmesan, definitely!
(You're clearly going to have to try all of them, just to compare and contrast. What a terrible chore.)

Re: Where have you eaten out lately?
I had lunch at the Hix restaurant in Lyme Regis last week. It was lovely, and expensive, as one would expect.
I was slightly pissed off that they didn't have lobster, as it was on the menu the day before I went, but my meal was lovely anyway.
And then there was this on the wall... a note from Keith floyd inviting Mark Hix to his book launch. Keith died just before the launch...

That note. :(
Which cross cut fries did you opt for, Emma? I'd have and Parmesan or Korean BBQ.
Cheating as it was a few weeks ago but we went to Food Truck alley and we ate the the Biscuits truck back in Atlanta. The full menu is here but they only serve biscuits and sides from the food truck. I had the rudely named Deep South in Your Mouth with sides of fried pickles and tater tots.

Today we went to the Fallow Deer which has been in danger of losing its booze license. There has been a massive local petition to save it and Vince Cable has got behind it too.
I had the crushed avocado, poached egg on sourdough and it's a really lovely local spot and has an excellent menu.

Re: Where have you eaten out lately?
Olive, biscuits as in, things that look like plain scones? We were quite confused by them! Though they tasted nice so, bring it on.
We've eaten out every day for the last 3 weeks. Miraculously I've only put about 3lbs. God only knows how. Much of it was of average quality, but we had some gorgeous tapas plates in Santa Barbara, and a fantastic steak in San Francisco. Oh, and ate at a completely bizarre (but fairly decent) Italian in Las Vegas http://battistaslasvegas.com/. There was stuff hanging from the walls and ceiling, as in, pictures, photos, ornaments, decorations. ALL over the place.

Yes, those. I first encountered them at breakfast with 'gravy' :vomit: but came round to them eventually.
That place looks brilliant and very Vegas, Smalex!

Re: Where have you eaten out lately?
Thanks for your Kings Cross suggestions chaps! We ate at Dishoom and Caravan there, and Wahaca's in Soho before the show. Dishoom was ok, especially the dahl, but I don't think quite lived up to the hype. I wouldn't queue for it again. Caravan was fantastic, we'll be going back there when we can. Wahaca's was good as always and nice to eat there at lunchtime for a change when it was quiet.
As an aside, we stayed at a Premier Inn Hub, basically 'box rooms' (although they're bigger than a Yotel), cheaper than a standard Premier Inn room. It was really great accommodation, would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in central London.

Re: Where have you eaten out lately?
That's a good recommendation kiwi, I shall try one of those next time.
I have eaten in 3 lovely restaurants in Portugal, all different and all great.
Pedro Lomas in Porto. Really innovation 1 michelin star, lovely room, beautiful plates, great tasting food. Really formal though and I think me and Mr Cos laughing away where too much for them.
Velodouro in Pinhao - totally local style, loads of great grilled meats and fishes with fresh salad, roasted potatoes and great service. Perfect local restaurant with a huge wine list.
DOC - another fancy place where the chef is a judge of Portuguese masterchef. Amazing scenery as it's a glass box suspended over the Douro river. Great food, really good service, not outrageous for the quality.
And now I'm back to no wine everyday and healthy eating

I went to the Pump House in Bristol on Friday and was underwhelmed which was disappointing really.
Your Portuguese things look lovely Cos. They cook so well there.

Oh! I am sad Smal, Pumphouse has been reliably good for us.
I did go for burgers at a new burger place called Asado last weekend and it was epic. Truly amazing, I recommend it highly.

Is that in Bristol? There are so many burger places the choice is a bit overwhelming.
The main course was nice although there were some purees which lacked much flavour. We did have some cauliflower cheese side which was lush though. It was just quite cold in there, on a damp evening. Service was very slow (I don't mind slow food but bring me a drink), and I wasn't mad about the decor. I think maybe sitting outside in the summer would be better.

Yes, up the top of Colston street. It definitely rivals 3 Brothers for quality burgers. I also hear good things about Burger Theory which used to be in Kongs of King St and was amazing. Chomp is my total favourite however and their steak is just great if you don't fancy a burger.
I loved the Pumphouse cauliflower cheese but that all just sounds a bit disappointing. Upstairs is nicer
