That sounds very good. I wish it were nearer! I like delicately done 'indian' food but places are so few and far between (IME).

Ooh, S's boss has been the Nathan Outlaw's place and thought it very good (hes as fussy as they come too, from what I gather).

Have you been to Nutmeg Smalex? It's fabulous for indian food, quite delicate and interesting and lots of exciting options. It's in Clifton village.

No! I will try it. We've been to The Mint Room which was excellent but pricey, but I wasn't aware of any other decent places (I've gone so SO off bog standard indian places).

That's the one, on The Mall. Lovely service too.

Oh brilliant. :disco: I have three of his books and use them all the time so I'm quite excited about his restaurant.

You can get a discount in that one (and I think all of his, apart from the main one in Cornwall) if you sign up to his Grub Club.

The food in the London one is lovely, although it's not quite as scenic as the main one. ;)

Oh bollocks. :) I haven't heard of that. I wonder if I can sign up on my phone while walking there.

I love a nice view of concrete.

I am thinking of surprising M with a trip to The Arnolfini to see the Grayson Perry stuff, is there anywhere around there worth eating at Brizzlers? Otherwise it will be a pub near the airport, and they all sound pretty dull to me.

Depends what sort of thing you fancy, whether you want restaurant or more low key.

If you’re happy to stay in the Harbourside area, there are loads of places. Some are more chain-y, e.g Las Iguanas, or there is The Stable which is a nice pie / pizza joint just the other side of the footbridge from the Arnolfini.

For cheap and cheerful tapas there’s El Puerto which is also close. Slightly posher you’ve got Bordeaux Quay.

There is lots of nice places round there. What do you fancy? Olive shed does nice tapas, Wild Beer does great fish/chicken and chips and is a brewery, Root was mentioned up thread for delicious mostly vegetable based things. Muddock is pretty cool with views.

Do not go in Za Za Bazaar. I repeat, do not go in Za Za Bazaar. Ming.

There's LOADS of options near there. Mud Dock is good for laid back sort of stuff, quite a lot of chains (including slightly more unusual ones like Turtle Bay), a big all you can eat place (if thats your sort of bag), or if you fancied a slightly longer walk there's St Nick's market which has loads of brilliant street food type of places.

Ha, crossed with Cos. Za Za Bazaar isn't my cup of tea but I think Ruby went there recently and her kids liked it.

A slightly longer walk in the context of central Bristol = 5 minutes :))

Ooh, Root and The Olive Shed tapas sound good. We'll be eating early so sharing plates will be perfect, thank you!
