I don't think I've eaten his food before going to Temper. Thanks for the Gizzi tip.

I really fancy Temper but S has put me off saying it’s really heavily meat based. I’m not veggie but I do eat mostly vegetable based meals these days. I like the sound of the cocktails there though and obviously pizza and vermouth sounds amazing!

He definitely does plenty of veggie things but I think the City one is much better at veggie things.

It is pretty much a shrine to meat, fat and mezcal. They might well have fantastic veggie stuff but I'd probably go somewhere else if I didn't want flesh.

I agree - I'd only suggest Temper to a vegetarian diner (or someone who likes to see a good selection of veggie dishes) if I really didn't like them :))

Temper is really great. The Sunday roasts are good too. I wasn't so keen on the City curry one, though.

He's opening another Temper later this year.

The Soho one is faaaar better. I found the City one OK but a bit weird tbh (it's nothing like the other one - totally different).

Ken and I went to The Gate in Islington this week, which was very nice but I could have eaten more.

Yesterday I went to an Indian restaurant that locals rave about. I thought it was ok, but nothing special (I was less blunt to friends!).

I randomly googled for a cafe whilst killing time in Shoreditch today and found a vegan Brazilian place 2 minutes away. I had a burger, cassava chips and cake and left with their cookbook. :ready:

I ate at Rive Gauche in Zurich this week. There was one plant based option per course, so that’s what I had.

* Mixed leaf salad with market vegetables, seasonal fruits & vegan cheese
* Morel agnolotti with chive cream sauce, red radish and herb salad (and vegan ‘Parmesan’)
* Mango – coconut Panna Cotta, passionfruit gastric, coconut sorbet, fresh mango & orange - crumble

That looks ace.

I went to Otira a few weeks ago. It's a kiwi(New Zealand not the fruit) themed place and it was great, really great tapas and I would like to try the full restaurant next time.

That looks good Cos. My list of places to try in Bristol is so long I keep forgetting it.

Imagine a kiwi fruit themed restaurant

Back when Squeak was allergic to cows milk, she had a candle in a kiwi for her birthday at nursery. :))

Yes! Annoyingly we have a 6pm sitting, and we’re doing the 7 courses (I’m having the wine).
