Re: Ideal Homes- Show Us Your New Purchases!
Well, there is no surer sign that I might be coming out of a (very long) funk than the irresistible urge to buy furniture. That and the impending arrivals of out of town guests when my apartment looks like shit - because most of the time I don’t care.
Anyway, having spent the weekend tidying and reorganizing the living space a bit, I have just ordered this skinny console table to fit into an awkward, unused wall space with a light fitting in the middle of it. It’s crying out for a shelf but I’m not at all handy and know no one who is, so this will do. I’d have loved a shelf or a drawer but for my space everything else I saw was either too deep or too wide #goldilocks. This also suits the dark metal/white shelving thing I have going on elsewhere in the place so it should fit in.
I would really like a mirror to sit above it but something that big would require drilling and hanging and I’ve skills nor tools for either. I could really use a decent handyman/woman but there is no lack of work for the practically skilled in this town so getting people to do smaller jobs is tough. In next payday I have got a few other bits to order lined up - including the bench to go with my dining table that I’ve put off buying for 4 years

I've bought a couple of cheap rugs and a soap dish. I'm going to redecorate the first week I'm off work so fancied a few bits to brighten it up

Butter dish it’s very lovely.
I also really like your soap dish, Marth.
I bought a couple of these for the kids’ study book. They have a dark grey desk and as soon as we brought the stools home they asked if they could sit on them and do “homework” (it’s school holidays here!)

I bought the most Etsy light shade ever for my bedroom. I suspect it's very divisive, but I love it

I like the tv unit in situ. It’s less blockbustery.

That is very nice. I should take a picture of ours but it's surrounded by clutter.

I like the hexagons on the drawer.
If your back's against the wall, turn around and write on it.

Right, nobody shout at me for being The White Company’s bitch again but I’ve just ordered this with 15% off. It’s a bit of a gamble because it will take up quite a lot of space. Also it will be a devil to keep clean with cats around, but I really love it. It’s pale grey wool in case it’s not clear.
