That's lovely! I'd never heard of Salvation Glasgow and have just had a very enjoyable scout about their website.
I'm up for that tour.

I need to go and look in the place you got your cabinet from, Duo. I really want something similar.

That sideboard is so you! I love it.
Due to all the shit that going on in the world, I shall be working from home for the foreseeable future, maybe forever!
I cannot work at my dining table full time even when Gannet goes back on site, so I'm using a bit of savings and have bought this. It should fit snugly in my alcove and I can close it at the end of the day.

That reminds me of Playschool Beatrix (you’re probably too young)!
Looks like a brilliant solution Bramble.

Yes! A daily bottle of working wine. I love that desk.
I'm laughing at the playschool references and being old enough to remember. When it's installed can you do a day of 'what's behind the round window?'

Ha! It does look like a bottle of wine!
I have to wait 5-6 weeks for delivery, hopefully Gannet will be back on site then

I have quite strong memories of that humpty doll, I wonder if I had one. I don't think I watched playschool much at all as we didn't have telly at home until I was about 14.

Meant to say the desk solution is great, and I do love that mirror.
That desk would be great in hall space (if a person had hall space)

Is this in the spreadsheet? It has amazed me. Did your parents have no interest, or was it on purpose to reduce childhood brain warping/ocular squarification?

Really! I lived with a girl who didn't have a TV in her room and I thought that was insane enough

Re: Ideal Homes- Show Us Your New Purchases!
My parents were anti-telly. We used to rent a video player at Christmas , then bought one I suppose when I was around 10. We had a physical television which we used for our computer. We weren't banned from telly so I saw shows at friends houses. Honestly I think they were right, it's a massive waste of time and takes over the room whenever it's on, and I much prefer just watching things when I choose, rather than having it leak over. I watch loads of shows, but given the choice would watch essentially nothing live, no news or live shows. I really hate having the telly on during meals, or in the background. Either watch it or don't!
It wasn't a big problem socially. All I can remember from primary is not knowing about the Goonies or the latest on Neighbours. Although now I'm thinking about it I might have been older than 14 when we finally got it, as my first boyfriend used to give me home recorded tapes of Red Dwarf, and I remember being a bit excited about watching at my second boyfriend's house But I also remember discussing Harry Enfield and the Mary Whitehouse experience at school too, which I definitely didn't have on tape

Mary Whitehouse Experience I said, "That's you, that is," to a friend the other day and was delighted he got the reference.

My arm nearly fell off with all the dough kneading, so The Bf enabled me and I've just ordered a ruinously expensive Kenwood Titanium Chef
