Re: Corona Virus
God, for a moment there I genuinely thought Boris was going to announce Cummings had been let go. Absolute shitheads.

Re: Corona Virus
I am not remotely surprised, Johnson has no morals whatsoever. Time for Labour to crank up the pressure.

He's done. Johnson has now fully lost public trust. No idea how this plays out, but this is where he loses us.

Re: Corona Virus
This is ludicrous. I'm not surprised but really. Lets hope Pippa Crerar has some photos to release.

Re: Corona Virus
I really hope the press don’t let this drop. And that clear, indisputable evidence of Cummings flouting lockdown (if it doesn’t already exist) comes out.
Though it probably won’t make a difference. I’m so angry. My in-laws have been flouting lockdown since the beginning, and this sort of crap justifies them breaking lockdown (in their eyes).

Re: Corona Virus
I would love this to be the case but I honestly don't think that it matters what he does/they do. People still believe his shit, for some unfathomable reason.Mountain Goat wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 5:09 pm He's done. Johnson has now fully lost public trust. Agreed. They will just come out with something about Diane Abbott and numbers or Corbyn supporting terrorists. Utterly blind.

I don't think they do with this, though. Usually, yes.
This is cutting right across the political spectrum, including people who don't much care about politics.

I don't know, I think this has cut across political lines. So well done Boris, finally uniting the country

I'm not sure it'll actually end his tenure or anything, but I do think this has or could be quite a marker in the weakening of it.

Re: Corona Virus
I'm not sure there's even a mechanism for getting shot of him/them so I'm not hopeful of major change but I do think the tide has turned now in terms of public faith. Might just mean no-one bothers with lockdown though.

Re: Corona Virus
I'm so cross. I'm SO cross. Honestly, I have full sympathy with someone travelling for emegency childcare (even though that is bullshit and he was clearly just commuting) but I absolutely cannot forgive the cover up. They had one option: choose between protecting lockdown or protecting an advisor. The fact that they went with the latter is a stunning mistake and I wish they would pay for it dearly.

Re: Corona Virus
Yes. I think the cover up is worse than the crime. If Cummings had apologised and said he panicked and made a bad decision, it'd be old news by now.
