It a sad eye smiley isn't it? At a quick glance it looks rolleyes, though, I grant you. :))

Margo wrote: Tue Jun 02, 2020 9:13 pm Sorry; I just felt so terribly sad for her and assumed it was a body image thing. It didn’t occur to me that she might have been cold because it was absolutely roasting hot outside and it was cooler but not cold in the shop.
I don't think you said anything wrong. You may or may not have been right but you sounded as if you were basically wishing her well. We all know Mog loves to stir

Tesco is unbelievably cold! I'm always appalled by that when I visit the UK.

Is it not just a sad smiley? It certainly doesn’t look sarcastic to me, and it wasn’t meant in that way.

Bloody hell. Minefield.

Sorry Margo, I have looked at it again, and realised it could be either.

If you use the board smilies there’s less ambiguity :teacher:.

I think it’s the equivalent of :puppy:?

IWLTS: hahaha, that really pissed you off didn't it? You wanted everyone else to join in your moaning but your colleague actually offered you a solution and I bet you didn't actually want a solution, you just wanted everyone else to join in your moaning.

IWLTS I'm so, so happy for you that you're pregnant, particularly when you've been trying for so long. But please stop smoking.

IWLTS Dear god in heaven, it's a planning application. There's no conspiracy. He's a council employee, not a mafia don.

I am on the fence for this one  On your side, I can see that my mum's partner is now on the local council and as such has been on a training course and now he and several colleagues sit on the council for local planning applications. There's nothing more sinister than a fair amount of NIMBYism.

On the other hand, having watched that George Clarke program with unusual historical buildings, and read up on people renovating or converting stuff, the refusals seem sometimes to completely without basis. Councils seem to simultaneously bemoan how terrible it is that /small local landmark/ is falling to pieces, and will be completely beyond repair in 5 years, whilst also saying that the roofing tiles chosen for the renovation are totally unacceptable, yet naturally /they/ cannot be expected to suggest any roofing material that would be suitable; just redo all your plans and come back in 3 months.

Listed building applications are a world of their own, they don't count. Anything goes there!

Honestly, she's got into a dispute with her neighbour about a tiny section of garden wall, and now she keeps sending me emails about how her neighbour KNOWS people and they're all going to sway it, and how we need to be careful not to get on the 'wrong side' of the planner. She's a bloody loon.

 Poor smal!

Speaking of bloody loons....IWLTS: I thought you were normal, but evidently not!

The mother of one of A's classmates has just posted a long, long screed on FB about the Illuminati, how Putin is attempting to cleanse the world of pedophiles and drugs and how the knowledgeable ones are preparing for the ascension. :ruby: Quelle fucking déception!

IWLTS FUCK OFF!

To the woman who posted a picture of her child with the caption ‘the wildest of wild things’ as her first post in the new group set up called ‘Local Area Wildlife’. Less than a fucking week and she thinks people posting pictures of flora and fauna give a shit.

Fortunately, not yet!

Today IWLTS if you’re going to have a grandchild come and stay for a few nights, despite current restrictions, how about you don’t let any of the other grandchildren know. :ruby:
