Missing cat

Post by Red »

I only seem to come on here panicking about something or other, and today its that one of our cats is missing. Its only been since last night but its incredibly out of character, and all that.

Its been shared on multiple FB groups and the street whatsapp group, but I am obviously thinking the worst.

They can come back, right? Even if they have missed meals and all their usual routine?

I've put their litter box outside in case he's gone further than usual, any other suggestions??

Thanks.

Do a leaflet drop, that's how Chester got returned to us. I know you said you did the whatsapp but the neighbours that found him said they had put it on their fridge and it was one of the kids that spotted him.

Best of luck, I hope they are back safely soon.

I hope he's back soon. A group I'm in says to actually knock on doors and ask people to check their sheds, and houses and to hang unwashed clothing on the line

Leaflets are a good idea. I’m hope he'll be back soon. He might be stuck in a shed or gone further away but I had a cat once that would disappear for days and then suddenly turn up again, hungry but otherwise fine.

They can indeed, Red! There was a cat missing for about two weeks here, recently. The owners had signs and social media posts absolutely everywhere, it was a fairly distinctive fluffy ragdoll.

I spotted him in some undergrowth on on a walk, called the number on the Facebook post and the woman came straight there. ‘Albus’ appears to have spent the whole time in that stretch of park as it was pretty close to their house. He was really skinny but she was absolutely overjoyed to have him back.

I was amazed at how long he was missing for, and that he was so close to home.

Keep calling and put signs up. I hope he makes his own way home soon.

Oh I hope he'll be back soon. It's horrible when they disappear. If you've had good weather it's especially worth asking people to check their sheds, but probably worth doing anyway.

I hope he’s home soon, both my cats (separately!) have disappeared for a few days and then just suddenly turned up, hungry and dusty, so hopefully yours will too.

He is back. Silly boy.

He came thundering through the cat flap late last night, dusty and hungry (Hobbes!) ate a lot of food and promptly went straight back out again.

If he does it again I will likely panic a lot less, but his usual routine is 100% centred around being fed so for him to miss 2 meals is unheard of.
Thanks for the kind words.

He is currently thinking about what he's done on the bathroom shelf. Sorry for the raggedy plant shot, he has chewed every single leaf on that plant.

Oh, I am glad he is back. Naughty! Beetle is spending most nights outside at the moment, and most days asleep on whatever bed she chooses. :lg:
