Re: Time For A Change
Oh my god. How do any of these people get any actual work done in between all the interviews and chats and dinners?!

I honestly don’t know! They seem to be a business with a lot of money for entertaining and travel which is unusual in itself so I’m guessing they have a lot of time on their hands in the new covid world. :))
CEO interview now set for Friday afternoon. I have one call with the UK marketing person in between and I’m pretty sure that’s it but I wouldn’t get money on it.

I think it's all crazy, so many interviews over such a protracted period of time and I bet you'll still have a 2 week notice period at the other end.
Good luck with the job though, hope you get it and soon!

Re: Time For A Change
I’m pretty sure they can fire me without notice which is an interesting dynamic to be going into. It amazes me the American process is so drawn out when you can get rid of people so easily vs the UK.
Anyway! I have a verbal offer! I have another call with them on Monday to run through the details.
I think my immediate boss is going to be a bit of a challenge but the other 3 people who interviewed me are great and who I’ll be working with on a day to day basis.
They’ve been very direct about how a lot needs to be done and there are some big personalities to manage who all have a degree of conflict but given my job is basically fire fighting I’m quite looking forward to it all.
Remind me about this when I’m back here moaning about the endless travel and my mental boss. :))

Congrats! Is this the one where they offered the other guy a position at dinner?

Amazing! Well done.
I'm mildly disappointed they didn't offer it to you in a cringe way, like via interpretive mime or whilst firing someone else.

There’s still time, Smalex. I get the formal offer on Monday so I expect they’ll do it via a hot air balloon over my house or something.

Congratulations, olive! I'm going for the formal offer being hidden in a very ornate cake.

Oh well done. Hope it's fun and interesting. Spose it's good to know that you only ever have 2 weeks notice in case it's not going well. Much easier escape clause than a 3 month notice period.
