Hideous Hideous decor. Its like a who's who of dated striped wallpapers.
in Sandal as well. Which is like Wakefield only slightly posher.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

I don't know Wakefield at all! It seems cheap to me. 1950s semis go for more than that in some parts of Bristol (I cry)

Amazing! But imagine all the shit you’d have to throw out (assuming it comes with the hideous decor intact!).

The tea tray and the scary child! Curtain swags are a pet hate of mine. The house itself is beautiful though.

What are the stairs that open up in between the fireplace and ensuite bathroom?!

Yes, strip it back and it'd be gorgeous.

Definitely! That's tens of thousands of pounds of curtains in that house.

It's a beautiful house (I love the ivy), but the decorators would have to move in for months to get rid of all the decor.

It must have cost a fortune to decorate in the first place, as it's all from the same era.

Oh I would move into it as is and live there like that for a year, pretending it was a quaint B&B I didn’t need to check out of. I’d use the redecorating budget to install a quaint old lady in the kitchen to make eggs and hover too close when I’m hungover and don’t want to make small talk. She can live up the secret staircase.

I hadn’t noticed that! It looks like the ensuite is either only accessible from the study below, which makes no sense, or there’s a hidden door behind the fireplace. :weewee: They might have just missed a door off the floor plan, but my inner 8-year-old is telling me it’s definitely a hidden door.

The dressing room makes me feel all claustrophobic. :panic:

Def. a hidden door  I assume there's a door from the dressing room to the ensuite (photos suggest but don't show that), but still, what are the stairs for?! They don't go to the 2nd floor, that I can tell at least.

That house could be amazing, though it's gota tiny garden, and a lot of space wasted on the driveway, which makes me sad. I am also frankly amazed that anybody could walk into a shop, see the monstrosity pictured in photo 4 and think "Yes! Yes, that's the coffee table for me. I love it!"

When I said my mum would love the decor, that was one of the things I thought she'd love most. My parents have a not-quite-so-garish version, but if she'd seen one with gold cherubs first...

This is Joe Pesci's house, it's very weird. Ignoring the small room that just holds a horse, or the beachside cafe room, who on earth doesn't have their bedhead against a wall?

My god, there isn't one nice piece of furniture in it. That beach bar room  I went to a cheap eurocamp once in france that had a bar that looked almost *exactly* like that.
