Sounds positive, Skips. I find the balancing so hard, every time I apply for a job I like the sound of I worry I'll get another one before I get a chance to interview and will then potentially end up with nothing. It's horrid.

I had my interview, I think it went well. The company seems interesting and I think they liked me. :fc:

Ha, yes! I've generally worked out if they give a timescale and you don't hear within that it's a no. I hate the limbo period after interview.

I have an interview in 3 weeks for a health and safety role in my current company. The advert listed IOSH managing safely as an essential but I spoke to the recruiting manager before I applied and she said not to be put off. I said in my application I’d be happy to do the qualification in my own time and at my expense if offered the role. The qualification is 24 hours online learning, I think I can do it before the interview and turn up to the interview saying I now have the qualification. Would this look mental, or show I’m serious about it?

I think given that they've said not to let it deter you applying then you could just reiterate at interview that you are happy to do it, and in your own time.

I paid for an intro course to something before an interview just to show a bit of basic knowledge. It never came up and I never really needed it in the role, but just understanding the terms used was worth it!

The interview today didn't go well, I didn't sleep last night and I felt like all my answers were a bit shit. I may be pleasantly surprised, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were a no.

I don’t think I’d be any more disappointed than I would be anyway. It’s not a huge expense to do it online, the time commitment is more of an issue, but I wouldn’t be too upset. I think if I didn’t get the job then at least I could say I’d done everything possible to give myself the best chance.

I’ve signed up to the course, my friend who works in that department thinks it will look really good that I’ve done it, not just the actual course but what it says about my attitude.

I think that sounds like the best idea Suz. Unless it's going to put huge pressure on you it sounds like it would be worth it to sure you're keen.

Sorry you think your interview didn't go well, Skips. Sometimes it's hard to tell though, so don't lose risk hope yet.
