How do you ever get anything done with her around, SM? She's ridiculous! I would just have to be floofing her all the time.

Z, she gets sent out to work in the fields with the workers (aka SunnyDad and Daughter#3) so she's only a distraction (to me) out of working hours.

She guards the workers! She's learning the limits of the land and where her people are, she is. (She also naps a lot because she's still a baby)
I don't count because I'm inside the house.
Having said that PolarBearDog used to check up on everybody going back and forth to make sure everyone was safe and sound. PBD didn't have to factor in my WFH, though.
Our dogs are very much loved, but they are are also our alarm system.
Le Puppy has to learn to guard and to protect.
No, we don't live in the Far West, but we need them to protect us.
She prefers being outside. She was born in the sheep pen and smelled of sheep for ages after we adopted her.

Is she there to protect you from bears and wolves?

Not many bears in these parts, but plenty wild boar. We are also wary of humans with ill intentions.

We also think it's more fun for the dogs to be outside, running, playing and sniffing about rather than stuck indoors with boring old me all day.
If Le Puppy get too tired and her wee legs are tired, SunnyDaughter#3 puts her in the back of the tractor/trailer and drives her home.
I think they enjoy their life on the farm.

It sounds like a pretty idyllic dog life to be honest.

She has had a fun day in the fields. We're renewing the irrigation system so there are loads of puddles and geysers which mixed with earth gives this:

No need to hose her down. She's almost clean again already. As soon as the dirt dries it literally drops off.

Her wee white, surprised "which?" face makes me laugh so much.

Aaargh, I don't know what's going on!! I didn't mean to quote myself! I wanted to edit "which" to "which"!
