Might be worth a mention to the facilitator if she does it again. How selfish of her!

IWLTS for crying out loud, if I IM you a quick question with a yes/no answer, you don't have to fucking call me for 20 minutes. Every FUCKING time .

We have agreed to part ways
She got very upset when I asked specific questions asking her to clarify some of her (very conflicting/confusing) feedback and felt I was “offended” and shouldn’t have spoken to a client that way (!). Poor flower. I should have seen it coming - she also asked if I was “offended” when I’d said I prefer to charge a project rate rather than an hourly rate.

Oh wow. She sounds a proper nightmare. I think a parting of ways is the very best outcome.

Oh my god, "offended". How passive-aggressive is that?

So passive aggressive! I find emotional clients really hard to deal with and I’m far too straightforward for them.

An emotional, passive-aggressive client is just awful. I don't do any work at all for small companies these days - and I way prefer to get most of my work through agencies. So much easier to deal with!

Good grief she sounds awful. Is she very young? :ageist: I’m willing to bet hard cash that you won’t be the first (or the last) person to swiftly pack up and move on from her.

No - mid to late 30s I think? She’s also determined to do her own PR and showed me her mailing list. It was really out of date

My brother (web designer)has had his fair share of twats like that in the past. He now gives new clients a specific list of all the information he needs and won’t start anything until he’s got it.

I'm really careful with briefs now for that very reason, but it doesn't seem to stop them changing them wholesale after round one

Still, binning them off is always a delight. I've kept an email exchange from when I sacked off a terrible client last year, it gives me joy to read it from time to time.

IWLTS: You can't include a toilet and toilet paper as 'features' of a hotel room, FFS!

I KNOW, RIGHT? "Mr Radisson, with this toilet paper you are really spoiling us..."
