We were talking about stories with evacuees in with my parents and they mentioned Goodnight Mr Tom, which coincidentally the girls had watched at my ILs this weekend. I asked if it was B&W or colour, and it was the John Thaw version. Elvis asked “was it a cover?”, which makes absolute sense to a child who listens to a lot of music.

Whereas Sproglette was telling me she’s not always sure if she’s suffering growing pains or cramp. It’s her dad who apparently suffered with the former, not me, so I said “I never had growing pains so cant really compare them”. Well, I tried but she started laughing after the ‘never had growing pain’. :mischief:

Poor disappointing Beatrix

My niece recently declared me disappointing because I didn't scream loud enough on a rollercoaster.

L inadvertently scared the bejesus out of M with this one on the way to school this morning...

L: We’re going to play Slender Man at playtime today! :weewee:

M: :uhh:

L: It’s so much fun! [Friend 1] is Slender Man, [Friend 2] is Slender Girl, and I’m their daughter Slenderina! And [Friend 3] is Maleficent, so she’s the bad guy.

‘Slenderina’ keeps making me laugh. Friend 1 has a big sister, so I’m guessing he’s heard some kind of vague mention of Slender Man from her, and the girls have just taken the game in their own direction. :))

I was trying on trainers that I’d ordered and I said unfortunately I think they’re too small. My daughter said “yes you’re right, it doesn’t look like they’ve got much growing room.” :love2:

T was on a tree at the weekend and was asked who she wanted to catch her when she jumped.

"I want Granny with her strong arms, not Grandpa with his skinny arms."
"You first have to find out who you are. Then you have to be it like mad."

Granny and her strong arms

I keep thinking about this and laughing, but have no idea if its one of those "you had to be there" moments.

BM was trying to say her tongue was bigger than mine, then piped up with "Does your tongue grow with the rest of you? Oh wait, it must, otherwise babies would just have a mouth full of tongue" :mog:

Squeak had a lesson on drugs at school today. Came home and said “oh my god, I spent most of the class thinking they’d said ‘county lions’”.

Oh I see, I thought it was a mangling of a drug and I couldn't think of any that sounded like that!
