She went straight to her Dad’s and he’s texted to say she’s got a bit of a sore arm but is otherwise fine - obviously still bracing for her to come home this evening and suddenly be in agony/feel awful etc etc :))

I thought scottish advice was 12 weeks for under 16? That's what I was told for Joe (and his letter said last week). Glad she seems fine :))

It's 28 days post covid for jabs, Cluef. I don't know if there is specific advice for vulnerable people though. I hope the cardiac team can give you some clear advice rather than leaving you to balance all the probabilities.

I've managed to book J in for his second jab. 12 weeks feels like a long time from the first.

It’s usually 3 months post covid for teenagers but it might be different for vulnerable children.

Yes, excuse my fake news. It was 28 days for me but that was Nov-Dec, so even the advice for bog standard adults may have changed.

Joe's changed from 28 days to 12 weeks in between sept and Jan at some point. It all changes so much, there's no keeping up with it.

Joe's says all under 16. Who knows? 8 weeks would be great, as we're all going to Sweden at Easter, so here's hoping :))

A got her second today and it was all fine.

The cutest thing, though...the last time she did a drawing and give it to the nurse who injected her. He'd said he was going to put it up on the wall, but you know... And then today, it was there, proudly displayed! A was chuffed to bits! :))

E had hers at the weekend, it took forever. She was terrified of the needle and the vaccinator was being so nice about all of it, but I really needed her to just jab E while I had her still. An hour and a half later we were leaving without it being done as E was so upset. Then a very nice nurse came in, did a deal with her that she would stay still for five seconds, and she just did it.

That sounds like a nightmare, starry! Poor E, and poor you! Glad it got done eventually.

I mean they were lovely, but I needed someone a bit more ruthless. She was always going to flinch away when they came at her, she told them multiple times she wanted to have it done so… just do it. I really hope she doesn’t need a booster because FML.

G has been invited for a vaccine and I don’t know if he’ll agree to the needle. I need to pick my moment to talk to him about. He once completely refused the nasal flu vaccination, I’m not sure if a needle in the arm would be better or worse. Wish me luck!

I don't know any kids who benefit from drawing out the experience before they are given the injection! I know I'm not a fan.

Booking is about to open up here for 12-17's to get their booster. It's been 6 months since R's 2nd jab, so she's eligible but not at all keen despite being fine about the first two. I think she doesn't really believe she needs it anymore.

After our experience with Liv I am a huge advocate of vaccines. We didn't confine her to her room and none of us caught it from her so I can only imagine it was the vaccine that protected us. George was only one week in to his second vaccine too.

Sorry I missed this before. When I re-read the letter it actually said that the GP would contact us to make the appointment and they haven’t yet. I hate being a squeaky wheel but I should phone them.

Are most people you know getting their kids vaccinated at the moment? I literally know nobody over here at the mo who is getting their kids jabbed (or boostered, for those that already did so). Also, the only people I know who got their kids vaxxed, have kids over the age of 13. It's been available for kids from 5 - 11 for a few months now but I don't know a single person who has made use of the possibility. I was wondering if it's different where you guys are.
