Re: Early Pregnancy Thread
Thanks both. I'm really hoping it can mean I can enjoy things a bit more.
That's a good point about the scans-at the end last time I definitely decided that if I did it again I'd throw any money I had at getting some reassurance. I'm in a mostly US due date group so I'm also justifying it by thinking that in the US I'd be shelling out for loads of stuff that insurance wouldn't fully cover so the joys of the NHS mean that I can pay for some probably unnecessary stuff. ;)
I think hopefully it will just be reasuring, and if it does come back as very high risk of something I guess I'd then just go for CVS or similar to be absolutely sure. But it seems like at least whatever result I get will be nearly certain to be right.

Just had it all done. She had real difficulty in getting the blood so hopefully it's enough! Should get the results in a couple of weeks.
The scan was reassuring in itself, as there's still a heartbeat and my EPU scan was two weeks and a day ago, measuring 8 weeks, and today it measured at 10+1 so looks like everything is progressing.
Still very blob like but we did see a little wavy arm.

Thanks. We had to take Topsy and Tim because their nursery was closed so they were mostly a bit bemused and sat watching Peppa. As we left Topsy told me that I'd been a very brave boy. She also thinks we should call it Pink Baby.

Test results back. Less than 1 in 10,000 for Down's, Edwards and Patau. My baseline risk for Down's was 1 in 103 so this is very good news!

That’s great Ken! I was really worried with X because of my age, and it’s nice to have that reassurance.

Oh that’s great news! You must feel amazing. Did it feel like a long wait or were you able to put it out of your mind?
And did you find out the sex or are you going to wait? (I take it they give you the option to hide it?)

Re: Early Pregnancy Thread
I wasn't expecting it to be back until late next week so it felt very quick, I thought the call was going to be an estate agent badgering me so I nearly didn't answer. I'd mostly put it out of my mind and went back to worrying about a missed miscarriage instead.
We have found out the sex and it's another one of the same variety we already have, how boring. ;)

Back to asking T&T for their opinions then, they can come up with a more interesting suggestion I’m sure ;) Baby Gruffalo

Great news Ken, although I'm slightly disappointed by your lack of originality with the sex ;)

To be fair deciding on the name was the reason I was keen to know as soon as possible.
One of them was very insistent that I was wrong as I asked them to guess before I told them.

Great news!

Cautiously joining you over here Ken - looks like you're getting a pregnancy buddy after all! And one who will be asking you a LOT of questions
