I’ve had a little splurge on the Revolution site for me and Squeak. She wanted a Mallows Beauty Pineapple enzyme mask, but it’s £20 and she doesn’t want to pay for it herself, so I’ve compromised and bought her a lash serum, and pineapple enzyme face wash, and a moisturiser for the same/less than that. She needs to learn regular cleansing and moisturising is the key, not a magic one off mask.

I’ve also ordered a brow serum for me, and I think something else, but can’t remember what now. I’ll find out when it comes.

Teens are so much luckier with skincare theses days. My routine consisted of taking makeup off with baby lotion then washing it with a harsh soap and then slapping clearasil on zits.

One year I got given a fancy pants Mary Quant case of makeup and skincare stuff which all brought me out in hives.

I started using Anne French cleansing milk when I was about 14 and a face cream. Both very old fashioned brands now. The face cream was in a white and pink pot - not Astral but similar brand at that time.

Ah the cream might have been Ponds cold cream :)

Oh God, I remember Astral, it was the cheaper alternative to Nivea, I think.

My mum had Oil of Ulay, I used to nick that.

My mum has been using the same Boots face cream (NOT cold cream, NOT vitamins A & E cream) for at least 40 years, and they've discontinued it :puppy:

I'm not sure what's happening with Boots actually, apparently they're not going to stock Germolene any more either :puddled:

I bought the new Hourglass mascara today. I think it’s new? It’s called Unlocked: Instant Extensions Mascara, which is a bit of a mouthful. Seems good so far though.

I swapped to Hourglass a couple of years ago and never looked back! It's good stuff.

The "Wow Combo" mascara I posted about earlier is great for a more dramatic look, although it doesn't extend your lashes to the ridiculous length shown on the ad. Just as well really or they'd be trailing in your soup.

I've used them for ages too, but the Caution one, not the Unlocked one. (Such stupid names for something that is only going on my potato face :lol:.)

I bought a new Caution mascara last weekend. I think it is my favourite.

I don’t think the instant extensions one is new. I bought it with a voucher for my birthday the year before last. I do like it and have replaced it.

I do like the Caution one and that it comes in small tubes too. I don’t get through the large tubes fast enough.

Oh, interesting. I do think the Caution one is better overall. You can buy a double-ended one with one of each, but it's about £42.

I use Caution in the small tube as well. I think mini products are definitely the way forward for me since I use make up so rarely these days.

I'm expecting some Alpha-H and Pixi Milky Mist today which are both staples but I also ordered the Charlotte Tilbury Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial which I've heard good things about.

I need a new primer. I love the hourglass one but the packaging is awful! The pump always breaks

I’m using up an old Laura Mercier one because I don’t want to buy another Hourglass one but it’s not as good.

Had anyone tried the Pestle & Mortar NMF lactic acid?

It might be having an odd effect - I noticed just now a few pin pricks of blood on my cheek that weren't there this morning, and can only think it's from using the NMF last night - previously it made a tiny scratch I had bleed/ be v slow to heal, so now I'm worried it is causing tiny bits of damage where there previously was none. : :mad:
